Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call. This morning, I joined community leaders at the Billy Graham Library for a prayer breakfast commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attacks. Together, we prayed for our first responders, government officials and our nation. It was an honor to stand alongside CMPD Chief Estella Patterson, Charlotte Fire Chief Reginald Johnson and those who continue to serve and protect our community. We will never forget.

This Labor Day, we celebrate the workers who keep Charlotte moving forward every day. From our teachers and first responders to small business owners and working families, thank you for all you do to make our city stronger. Happy Labor Day, Charlotte!

I’m grateful I had the opportunity to spend time with the young men at West Blvd Ministry. We sat together, shared stories and life lessons, and talked about the importance of education, working hard, and believing in what’s possible for your future. What stood out most was seeing these young men listen, ask questions, and engage. I left encouraged by them and reminded of how important it is for our community to show up, invest in our young people, and help them see their potential.

Had the pleasure of meeting with Italian Ambassador Marco Peronaci to discuss the strong ties between Italy and Charlotte and opportunities to deepen our partnership. Grateful for the conversation and looking forward to building on our shared connections.

Our Steele Creek Division’s recent community roll call at Boy U Sharp Barbershop brought together residents, officers and even @CLTMayor Harrington for connection and conversation. Events like this reaffirm the strong partnerships and shared commitment to public safety that keep our community moving forward. Today we celebrate the ribbon cutting for IKE Smart City’s digital kiosks in Charlotte. These kiosks will make it easier for residents and visitors to find information, navigate our city and stay connected while they’re out and about. Another step toward a more connected, accessible Charlotte.
