What a great night at the Greek Festival at Holy Trinity - St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church tonight! Thank you to the community for hosting such a wonderful celebration of Greek culture.

Today, we co-named the corner of Victory Boulevard and Richmond Avenue after George A. Karidis. George was a pillar of the Greek community here in #StatenIsland and at Holy Trinity - St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He was an active and caring man that responded as a worker for Con Ed to help alongside so many in the weeks after 9/11 and unfortunately, contracted an illness related to that service. George represents the best of our City and earned this distinction by the way he lived his life. May we always remember him

It was my honor to attend the memorial Mass and luncheon for @FDNY Rescue 5 today. They endured so much on that fateful days 25 years ago, and they became a family that now spans generations. God bless their sacrifice, and may we always celebrate their memory and heroism!
