BREAKING: Another @wbtradio exclusive — New CMS Board Vice Chair Elizabeth Monterrey Duvall told the board Thursday in an email that she is stepping down two days after being named to the position due to “received multiple threats, including death threats.” She also says, “But in moments like this, I have to put myself and my family first. I cannot ask my family to carry the weight that has come with this position.”
New Chair Dee Rankin talked her into staying and she the agrees to stay on as Vice Chair until December.
One has to ask what changed if she has agreed to stay on an extra two months and ask her family, “to carry the weight that has come with this position,” as she said she initially couldn’t do.
