This past weekend, F3 Nation feasted on Brisket, Goat, and Anchovy pizza... met "celebrities" like Steve-O, Caitlin Clark, and Incognito... and even worked out on a Croft overlooking West Sixth Farm Brewery alongside our Papi, who somehow just gets more naked every time you see him. From the mailroom... The Monday Morning Flag Guys. That is what I call them. I have ridden past and waved at them at the schools near my house almost every single Monday for the last 3 years between 5:15am and 6:00am. For a long time, I did not know who they were. They have flags they put in the parking lot and every Monday morning, rain or shine, I see them talking and working out together. I have never seen them as anything but silhouettes. No faces, just shadows in the dark. This shot has been in my head for over a decade. About 15 years ago, on a foggy morning, I saw the shadows of children walking on the same hill with their backpacks and instruments in the fog. I thought that would be a great shot! I didn't have my camera and the moment disappeared as fast as it appeared. This is the photographers lament of the shot that got away. When I saw these guys working out in the fog, I thought of the missed shot from years ago. I rode home and got my camera then rode back and asked these guys to pose for me. This is the result and I love it! I have since found out that these men are part of a group called @F3SouthFork (Fitness, Fellowship and Faith) but to me, they will always be known as The Monday Morning Flag Guys. I sometimes wonder if they have a similar nickname for me, The Monday Morning Bike Lady. Ciao for now,
