When I was 13, my father tried to force me to wear the niqab through verbal abuse and beatings. I tried—I tried so hard—to resist him, but unfortunately, I had no one to help me, and I ended up wearing it. My father used to tell me my face was like a donkey’s—ugly and not worth looking at—and that I should cover it. I would retort that, at the very least, a donkey doesn't wear a niqab. When I was 10, I saw a "Tiffany blue" abaya at the market with a funny cat design on it. My father saw me looking at it and asked if I wanted it; I said no, that I didn't like it. He told me he would slit my throat—actually slit it with a knife—if I ever wore it, simply because of the color.
My father doesn't care about my prayers or my religious observance; he ignores the true priorities of Islam, focusing only on the niqab—something for which he threatens to kill me.
I hate the beach and being there because it reminds me that I am a prisoner of the niqab. While people around me swim, I hate being seen in such a suppressed state; I can’t swim or run because of the niqab, and people laugh and call me "Batman."
I experienced suicidal thoughts and crying spells this past July because of the niqab.
Seven years of oppression.
Seven years without the air touching my face.
I am seriously considering ending my life if things continue this way, for what is the value of a life like this?

Today, my legal team received a request from social services demanding that I remove the letter they gave me on Tuesday, which clearly sets out the position they are putting my family in.
They are now claiming that the letter is confidential correspondence. It is not.
If Bradford Children’s Trust does not want me sharing information about their actions, perhaps they should start considering whether those actions are appropriate in the first place.
I will not be removing the letter. My solicitor has responded to them on my behalf and made that position clear.
I also find it deeply concerning that they appear to be monitoring my social media.
At this point, I feel I am being monitored more closely by the authorities than the people who sexually abused me as a child ever were.
That is an incredibly difficult thing to accept, particularly given everything I have already been through.
Once again, I am being treated as though I am the problem in a situation where I am the victim, mirroring the very behaviour I experienced from institutions throughout my abuse.
Clearly, the lessons from what happened to me have not been learnt.

🚨BREAKING: A Portsmouth father of two has been jailed for two years after throwing a plastic bottle towards a police line and swearing at police at illegal migrant protest in Portsmouth.
• Del Somerville, 42, is the first person jailed over the 6 September demonstration. He admitted violent disorder at Portsmouth Crown Court. About 120 migrants had been brought ashore by the RNLI after a Channel pickup.
• Judge Daniel Sawyer (right pic) called him a “thug” and said the sentence was meant to deter others after later protests. Body-worn video showed him throwing a small bottle at a police line on Ferry Road just before 23:30.
• Four other men charged with violent disorder from the same protest are awaiting sentence.
• For comparison, Judge Sawyer spared Bradley Tolfrey jail in May after he threw three knives at police officers, threw glass at the officers, threatened to slit their throats, spat at an officer, racially abused an officer, pretended to have a gun, covered himself in petrol and threatened to set himself on fire.
• Tolfrey, who had 21 previous convictions for 44 offences, and who committed the offences a month after a 26-week suspended sentence expired, was made subject of a 24-month community order.
• Judge Sawyer was recently investigated for harassment of a female barrister using an anonymous social media account after she complained about how rape victims are failed by the UK justice system.

People really don't like what they're up to. And this one received £1,150,070 from taxpayers between 2021-25.

I won't be shaking the hands of the Iranian Regime.
Instead, I told it to them straight after their "MPs" had the audacity to lecture the world on women’s rights at the Inter-Parliamentary Union a few weeks ago.
A regime that killed Mahsa Amini over her hijab, imprisoned women who mourned her, and continues to execute women for demanding their freedom has no credibility on women’s rights.
I won't allow Iranian MPs to be in the same room as me and not feel shame for their nation's war on women. Woman, Life, Freedom.

Did you know that Egypt controlled Gaza from 1948 until 1967, but didn’t turn it into a State called Palestine? Israel hoped to return Gaza to Egypt as part of the Sinai Peace Accords, but Egypt was uninterested in taking responsibility for the Gazans.
After a group of jihadists (including some Gazans who entered Egypt via tunnels) slaughtered a bunch of Egyptians in 2014, the Egyptian government closed the border, fearing for their own safety. It’s still closed today. They literally sacrificed a huge chunk of their land for safety from Gazans.

BREAKING: Andy Burnham has ruled out plunging the country into an early general election before 2029, saying he can “knock dead” the prospect.
“Well yes that’s when the next election will be. All of this speculation on an early election, I can knock that dead,” he told @itvcalendar.
In an earlier interview with @BBCPolitics PM said he was “not particularly” tempted and there would be “no election any time soon” but answer became more unequivocal as afternoon wore on.
