I'm delighted to see cadets across the UK preparing to celebrate the first-ever National Cadets Week, starting on 5 October. 💪 It's a chance to celebrate our cadets, thank the volunteers who support them, and recognise the real impact Cadet Forces have on communities across the UK.

Great turnout for our Peabody residents' drop-in, organised with Cllr Aisha Abubakar 🏡 I joined Aisha and the North East London Peabody team, giving residents the chance to raise repairs and estate issues directly with the people who can act on them.

Great to run into the Iron Men on Wanstead Flats.🏋️‍♂️ They run a free boot camp there every Sunday at 09.20, aimed at 18-25 Black men in our local area, offering mentorship, brotherhood and community building through exercise. Come down and get involved 💪

I recently joined Peabody to recognise its signing of the Armed Forces Covenant. From my work for Leyton and Wanstead, I know the vital role housing associations play locally, so it was good to see Peabody strengthen its engagement with Armed Forces communities nationwide.

It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of Major Paul Wilks, who died in a tragic road traffic incident in Ukraine, away from the front lines, on 12 September.
