This feels dirty because for 5 years since Amazon permanently banned some huge sellers for review manipulation, Amazon has told us that messing with reviews is a redline. Now in order to extract more $$ from sellers, creating an uneven review playing field is suddenly ok.
Amazon is going to start giving brands the ability to spend advertising dollars soliciting reviews. My initial reactions: This is very smart for Amazon This feels like extortion for sellers Where do I sign up

My cynical side tells me that Amazon will only stop raising the % they take from sellers once they think they have hit the ceiling. They hit that ceiling in the UK/EU and lowered fees because sellers dropped off. Will that happen in the US - I sure hope so!
At Accelerate almost every seller I spoke with asked the same SOS question: will Amazon roll back changes or reduce fees? Well the word is, a major fee discussions is happening in the next few weeks among Amazon leadership. Usually, that means increases. But will this time be different? ↓

Part of me is hoping that Amazon doesn't reconcile my ads invoice payment in time and ads are shut off for a couple days....

All Amazon sellers should listen to this podcast about the FTC lawsuit against Amazon. I didn't dig into the details of the when it was filed. This podcast does that for you. If this is all true, it is REALLY bad. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Stimmy checks to buy our products, yes please! LOL
Baier: $5000 for every adult citizen, that's about $1.3 trillion. The critics will say the president is bribing voters and he's bankrupting the country. Vance: Tariffs have generated a lot of revenues. The president is saying, if you keep us in power, then you will share in some of the benefit of this incredible wealth that we are creating
Community note
The cost of sending $5000 to every adult US citizen is estimated at 1.3 trillion dollars. US tariff revenue was approximately 195 billion dollars in fiscal year 2025. usafacts.org/answers/how-mu… newsweek.com/donald-trump-d… politico.com/news/2026/09/0…

Whether it is business or politics, it's a Game of Thrones level fight in China. Better to be in the upper mid levels than be the boss!
A Chinese court on Thursday sentenced #XuJiayin, former boss of Evergrande Group, to life in prison after convicting him of multiple crimes. The Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court in Guangdong Province found Evergrande Group and Xu guilty of illegally absorbing public deposits, fundraising fraud, illegally issuing loans, fraudulent issuance of securities, unlawful disclosure of important information, and corporate bribery.

Next flight this is going to be tested!
I've spent an untold number of flights pushing a charger into an airplane seat like I'm holding a baby bird. I finally learned the trick- an el cheapo international travel adapter goes into the garbage socket first. Your brick then plugs into the adapter. The adapter grips tight on both ends, whereas your plug was constantly sliding out from a highly violated socket. Full battery. Whole flight. No hands, feet, or creatively stacked carry-ons.

It just keeps getting harder and harder to sell profitably on Amazon. Feels like swimming upstream and the current just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Eventually you just want to give up and flow down the river until you go over the waterfall and at least it is over...😂
I genuinely don’t understand what Amazon is thinking with this one. A few weeks ago, sellers started noticing that Amazon is now prompting customers to leave a star rating while they are returning a product. Think about the selection bias here. You are asking for a product rating at the exact moment a customer has decided they don’t want the product. Of course those ratings are going to skew negative. Over enough volume, this has the potential to systematically pull down the star ratings of legitimate products across Amazon. And the sellers most exposed are the ones actually playing by the rules. If you refuse to manipulate reviews, you have no way to offset a new stream of ratings being collected from customers during one of the most negative moments in their entire purchase journey. Meanwhile, sellers willing to use black hat tactics to protect their ratings have an even bigger advantage. How is that good for the marketplace? I don’t know what the logic is here. Is Amazon trying to push more sellers toward returnless refunds? Is there some broader strategy around its paid review programs? Or did nobody fully think through what happens when you insert a review request directly into the return funnel? Whatever the reason, this is another unilateral marketplace change that can materially affect the economics of thousands of businesses. Ratings drive conversion. Conversion drives organic rank. Lower conversion means more advertising just to maintain the same sales. And eventually sellers start asking a very simple question: Why launch my next product on Amazon? That is the part Amazon should care about. We want Amazon to remain the best marketplace in the world to build great products. But changes like this make legitimate sellers increasingly hesitant to take the risk of launching something new. This also seems like one of the easiest things Amazon could reverse. There isn’t an obvious fee attached to it. There isn’t some massive infrastructure change required. Just stop asking customers to rate products while they’re returning them. It would be a small change for Amazon. But it would send a pretty meaningful signal to sellers that Amazon is listening.

This guy is a man of many skills. His pronunciation is really good and tones are good too. It's choppy but seriously impressive. Way better than any of the non Chinese speakers you see doing one sentence in movies and tv!

This is cool. So this is what happens when we don't have live unload and our trailers get dropped in the yard!
An Amazon worker is seen using a powered trailer spotter With this tool, Amazon can have workers move these massive trailers around a yard. It is much cheaper than having a truck driver do it and no CDL or licensing is required This means a yard worker making $19 an hour can do this job as opposed to a licensed trucker which can cost significantly more and needs a CDL

New sellers on Amazon don't stand a chance. Even if they think they have margin, there are a million different fees that will get you. I've been selling for 10 years, full time every day and I'm still being surprised by fees I didn't know existed!

Amazon, How the fu*k can sellers not hate you? We just got charged over $1000 for shipment 'defects' because we created a 5 way split shipment in April, changed plans, DIDN'T SEND ANYTHING, forgot to delete the plan and now got charged because 'Amazon took steps to remedy the situation and receive your inventory'. NO YOU DIDN'T, YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING EXCEPT TAKE MY $$$$. Is there a line in the sand somewhere? They treat us like we actually have some margin selling on the platform....

PR BS, Call me skeptical.... “We’ve identified a limited set of circumstances where we can trace that we’ve passed specific import charges onto customers, and when we receive those refunds, we will proactively contact affected customers and automatically issue refunds to them,” Olsavsky said. “Otherwise, like other large retailers, we’ll utilize refunds to continue to invest in low prices for customers.” cnbc.com/2026/07/30/amazon-t…
