Bessent in the first Senate-confirmed openly gay man in a Republican administration — but if you thought he was going to wear that title with pride, think again.
Bessent has done nothing but follow along with the current president’s homophobic policies:
❌ He’s scrapped protections for LGBTQ+ federal workers in his own department
❌ He’s said NOTHING as Trump ended the lifesaving LGBTQ+ suicide helpline and cut all mental health funding.
❌ He’s done absolutely ZERO to help any other gay men who want the same shot at a “successful” life like he has.
What a shame.
