There’s a couple of plot beats I really liked and a couple isolated moments but damn, I just can’t stand Iñárritu movies. What I didn’t expect was it to be incredibly similar to Asteroid City in structure and the things I didn’t like about that one fit here. Yet -

The guy whose brand is “everyone in this movie is miserable, hates each other and it’s pre-1899” will now make a movie about star crossed lovers?

I wish I wasn’t competitive as hell sometimes. I wish I could believe “it’s just an honor to be nominated” and just enjoy the moment but I really can’t and it eats me up inside

I know it’s not Mitch in control anymore but what’s the point of clinging to power if you’re basically a vegetable by the end?

Half of the YouTube ads on my feed : “Now with [company name]’s new AI features, you can start that business you’ve always wanted!”
Me: “I don’t want to start my own business, I just want a job with a decent wage and not be broke all the time.”
Ads: “Beef up your side hustles!”

Last night, I completed an outline for a horror feature film I’ve been mulling. It might be indie-expensive but studio-cheap but damn, if I can make it, I think it could really blow people’s minds 🫨

Onslaught:
Funnily enough I actually saw this at a test screening last year and it felt pretty complete, no big signs of unfinished VFX or the like.
Rewatched it last night and it felt like pretty much the exact same movie with maybe one possible change. I didn’t care for it -

- either time. The story wasn’t that interesting, the action was surprisingly…basic? Just not compelling at all. It also felt like they were building up the lead to be some kind of future action icon but the character is generic & actually doesn’t really do much, action wise -
