US invaded & occupied Iraq in 2003 to prevent China from taking over Iraqi oil fields & establishing a client state, keeping its oil out of Beijing's reach. The invasion came shortly after the Feb. 2003 outbreak of "bird flu"(SARS) in China, which might have been a US bio-weapon.
