The reason I didn’t get vaccinated is that I worked security at a vaccination clinic during COVID and personally saw at least 30 people collapse within ten minutes of receiving their shot that summer. In the break room, nurses openly talked shit about patients who questioned the effectiveness of the vaccines or wanted to know whether they were receiving Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or another brand. That information was sometimes withheld until they’d already rolled up their sleeve and were about to receive the injection. I specifically remember one nurse saying that people who questioned them or refused certain shots deserved to die choking on ventilators. The health authority constantly changed its policies, often arbitrarily, while enforcing every new rule rigidly. Even after the clinic shut down and the emergency phase of COVID had effectively ended, provincial and private sector mandates made it extremely difficult for me to find work. I was forced into immense debt just to pay my bills. I’ll never forget that period of my life, or the contempt, psychopathy, cruelty, and vindictiveness of shitlibs who believed they’d been given moral permission to treat people that way.
