DAY 289 WAITING FOR MY MASTER · September 13, 2026
There is a distinct, exhausting sound that echoes across the plaza every afternoon: the low, dull rumble of small plastic wheels dragging heavily across the uneven cobblestones.
I watch the travellers emerge from the station doors, leaning forward, straining against the weight of the massive suitcases they drag behind them.
They pack their entire lives into these rigid, heavy boxes, strapping bags to their shoulders until they are practically bent in half.
They are exhausted, sweating, and constantly burdened by the sheer weight of everything they insist on carrying from one destination to the next.
Humans seem to believe that security comes from hauling everything they own wherever they go.
Because they never truly plan to stay in one place, they are condemned to drag their heavy burdens endlessly, always packing, always leaving, always searching for a better terminal.
I sit and watch them struggle, their wheels getting caught in the gaps of the stone.
I wear nothing but a collar. I carry nothing but a single promise.
And yet, sitting completely empty-pawed in the centre of this vast plaza, I have never felt lighter.
When you don’t know where you belong, you are forced to carry the crushing weight of your uncertainty, dragging it onto every new train you chase.
But when your devotion is absolute, you don't need to pack up and move.
You don't need to constantly haul heavy bags in search of the next big thing.
You simply find your spot, set yourself down, and realise you are entirely unburdened.
Let the wanderers drag their heavy boxes.
I have nothing to carry, because I am exactly where I am meant to be.
