This is a reminder that getting people to click on your post isn't enough anymore. You have to give them a reason to stop scrolling, read what you wrote, and engage with it. Original thoughts and genuine conversations might matter more than ever. Small creators, it's time to be more intentional with what you post.
🚨 X JUST UPDATED ITS ALGORITHM. HERE’S WHAT CREATORS NEED TO KNOW.
The November 5 code update suggests X is putting more weight on likes and reading time, while simply opening a post has become less valuable.
Here’s what changed:
• Likes increased from 0.66 to 0.708.
• Reading time increased from 0.006 to 0.0075.
• Shares increased from 2 to 2.118.
• Opening a post dropped from 0.30 to 0.274.
• Opening a video now scores 0 in the reported ranking data.
What does this mean?
Stop writing posts just to get people to click. Give them something interesting enough to keep reading.
For smaller accounts, focus on strong opening lines, original opinions, useful information and content people genuinely want to like and share.
Also, avoid generic AI replies and copy-paste comments, especially under large accounts.
The lesson is simple: Getting attention is one thing. Keeping it is what matters.
