4/Regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, White and Hispanic Americans are far more polarized than Black Americans on the issue of pushing Israel towards a ceasefire and hostage exchange.

3/ On Ukraine, 64% of White Harris supporters back military aid to Ukraine regains lost territory, compared to just 34% of Black Harris supporters. Black Harris supporters views align more with White and Black Trump supporters.

2/Key findings: On immigration, Harris supporters are the most supportive of legal status for undocumented immigrants. Among Trump supporters, Hispanic voters were more support for this than their Black or White counterparts.

1/My latest @CarnegieEndow piece based on findings from an August 2024 survey with @YouGov is out now. While Americans views toward foreign policy challenges are largely mediated by political affiliation, there are political disagreements along racial lines within each party.

The level of importance assigned to these issues varied across racial groups. Black voters (48 %) ranked climate change as their top foreign policy concern, while Hispanic (51%) and White (52%) respondents prioritized immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border. 4/5

Among undecided voters, a significant minority preferred Trump regarding relations with China, the Israel-Hamas war, immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border, and the Russia-Ukraine war. In contrast, Harris was favored on climate change. 3/5

This morning I spoke with @CNN's Victor Blackwell about the Black community’s attitudes toward the Israel-Gaza war, and how President Biden’s handling of the conflict could potentially impact his bid for reelection.

Unsurprisingly, it is the younger generation of Black churchgoers that are expressing their discontent with Biden's handling of the conflict.

When we zoom in a bit more, it becomes apparent that Black Americans are underrepresented in the officer and general officer ranks of the US Military.

The US Armed Forces have historically served as a site of social mobility for many Black Americans. This fact, in part, has led to the overrepresentation of Blacks in the military in comparison to their share of the US population.
