In retrospect it's like so obviously what should have happened, but they really sold the premise so well I didn't have time to think about it being anything other than what they were portraying.

Fun moment, but not really that surprising or original. Twilight Zone did this same concept verbatim 55 years prior with the episode "A Nice Place to Visit". share.google/CKpc6sYudwk0nTE…

how could this be a "plot twist"? everyone knew this before the first episode even aired especially those who already saw the Twilight Zone episode a hundred times

Ted Danson was so spooky for that last line I was having goosebumps in the middle of the afternoon

Wasn't really a plot twist, that was the shows intention from the beginning.

I self-spoiled this for me. I love the play No Exit which this show drew inspiration from. I felt it halfway through the season and realized what the twist was going to be. Maybe my favorite network show of all time.

My friend tried SO HARD to get me to watch this but I hated the idea of a sitcom in heaven. I was immovable on it. She finally broke down and hollered the spoiler at me. I was like okay. Why didn't you just say so? I binged it like mad and it's one of my favorite sitcoms ever.
