Who will be the Wurman of martial law? Your hour is at hand.
The president has no constitutional or statutory authority to declare martial law or cancel federal elections. Election Day is fixed by Congress and can only be changed by statute. The 20th Amendment ends terms on set dates regardless. Supreme Court precedent (Ex parte Milligan) bars martial law where civilian courts function. Any such attempt would be unlawful and face immediate court challenges.

Great short reports - and this isn’t the only one - reverberate for years.
ICYMI this week: three years and eight months after @HindenburgRes published its Adani report, it is still rattling the group and India's regulators.
SEBI, India's securities regulator, settled with five Adani Group companies for ₹1.51 crore, without admitting or denying anything. The allegations it settled, an undisclosed related-party deal with Vakoder Investments and audits signed without a valid peer review certificate, line up with issues Hindenburg flagged in January 2023.
A year earlier, SEBI found the report's bigger Adicorp allegation "not established."

Really fucking hate Ponzis. The vast majority don't target wealthy individuals as Madoff did. Instead, they target struggling folks who see the opportunity to escape a financial hole. They prey on community ties and are run by the most soulless crooks imaginable.

One more post about this. According to the SEC press release, Lunsford has agreed to settle with the amount of any fine and restitution to be determined later. What often happens in these kinds of cases with parallel proceedings is that the DoJ uses its criminal forfeiture power to grab assets and the SEC orders payment in an amount to be satisfied by whatever the DoJ manages to get.
