To Save College Sports, we must solve a business problem: Fix a system that is fully professionalized on the cost side but only semi-professionalized on the revenue side. This problem CAN be solved. The solutions are common business sense and proven by decades of solid, clear data. I talked about these problems and the solutions at a @cnbc event last week.

End college sports. End the fake claim that these athletes are scholars. Make college basketball, football, baseball into minor leagues. Pay athletes what they're worth. Stop admitting people into colleges who can't graduate. They can continue to use college stadiums.

Everyone needs to pay attention when @CodyC64 is explaining HOW we may be able to have a longterm solution to all the problems plaguing collegiate athletics... At least he is trying. So many people just want to be critical, instead of engaging in conversations..

Most of these comments are focused on football. Cody is focused on all college sports… Olympic, women’s, non-revenue. He’s stated repeatedly the importance of student athletes as the next generation of leaders. It’s bigger than football.

Pretty much everything about college football over the last two decades has been to maintain the same selected few teams as contenders, while relegating every other team to farm system status.

I will go further. Taxpayers that fund the colleges must get repaid for every dollar they ever spent on these facilities and personnel costs before anyone else gets any money.

Why these goddamn players even need the college. Why don’t they just start a minor league football system? You can’t tell me these guys are getting good educations and they sure as hell don’t represent their school when they go from one school to the next to the next. There’s zero pride attached to these schools by these players. It sucks. It’ll never be what it used to be.

It is beyond time to remove sports from the colleges. They are now the professional minor leagues. Let them go do that elsewhere.

You have to break the conference model. These are separate professional leagues with no common interest. It is necessary to force them to be universities again or force them to be professional franchises. There is no other way around it.

Most of those players couldn’t pass a 1st grade spelling test so calling them college students is quite a stretch. 🤪

You want to make a super league. You guys that try to make NFL alternative leagues have not had success. So are you going for the second most popular sport in the United States. College football to make your own NFL like league.

how can you sit here and say you’re gonna save college sports when you are just making it worse?

Mr Campbell, I am pro-CFB super league & hope that is where this is headed. Is that what you’re thinking as well? If so, any predictions on the size? Would it be in the 30-40 range?

How about a one transfer limit unless there is a coaching change.

Divide colleges into amateur and semi pro leagues.

BS, i say end pro sports! That will solve the problem and we can go back to people playing sports because they enjoy it. Pro sports have corrupted the whole system. Get rid of them! Its stupid to pay millions to these people.

No the problem is rich pricks are upset that the athletes are getting paid and it’s costing them more money to support schools! College sports are the only place where Coaches get paid more than the athletes!

This would put the NCAA out of business. Not for or against. Just saying...

Perhaps there should be a governing body that negotiates all media rights and sets CBAs across FBS. Also sets rules and negotiates pay caps with players association. Small fee & increased rev dished back to schools for their own choosing.

You have to disband the ncaa before anything can be done.

“Preserve and save college sports” what’s the threat?

I don’t believe in salaries for athletes who are getting a free education. We go to college to get our first paying job. If they are good enough the pro teams can pick them up. Athletes should be ablè to earn money selling autographs and clothes like anybody else.

The solution is to demote sports back to where it belongs: as a hobby. College should be about EDUCATION, not sportsball.

College football was ruined by the shit he is talking about.

In fact , it sounds like he wants it to be pushed even more towards professional sports. I can’t get in board. What makes college athletics great in large part is that it’s not professional

Not when you have the amount of greed that exists in Universities. The irony is all this revenue never lowered tuition for non-athlete students. Complete failure.

"Student" athletes yeah ok 3/4 of football players look like they can't read past the 6th grade

This is my problem with Cody’s plan.. he doesn’t want to really save college athletics in the sense that he still wants to replace it with professional sports.

School is for an education, athletics is secondary. Somebody mismanaged, embezzled, or turned away from sports due to politics?

The only thing absurd is the amount of money professional athletes make
