Zcode got busted out for uploading user repositories to Alibaba Cloud last week.
One person even told a story when Zcode wiped their repo and they were able to restore it because ZAI support had a newer state of his repo history than his latest git commit.
How nice of them.
But I have a hard time holding it against them tbh. Grok build did the same thing. I sort of assume every coding agent is sucking up my data. Eating the whole repo is a bit wild, but seeing as how the agents made the whole fucking thing it’s not like they didn’t have every line in the first place through the session logs they ALL KEEP.
In the grand scheme of things, it probably wasn’t even a scandal to 80% of their users or they didn’t even know about it.
Regardless though, Zcode felt the need to make it up to their users. They open sourced their app, presumably stopped uploading your repo beforehand (that would be pretty funny if it still did, someone’s checking though), gave everyone 4 resets and 100M tokens free.
I mean, let’s be fucking real about this. GLM 5.3 and 5.3 Flash are great models. I’ve burned 5B tokens on Zcode with another 6 months left on my sub.
I’ve paid them all of $25 for an annual coding lite sub. At some point just take my fucking shitty SaaS repo, it’s public anyways.
