"quasi-consensual" encounter. Have a quasi-life sentence.

Jamie is fearless in calling out judges. Read her work. That said, what's a guy gotta do to get a letter like this? I'd frame it.
It has come to my attention that I have been denounced by @Advocates_Soc for criticizing judicial decisions — and yes, individual judges. Here's the thing. When someone, for example, spends her lawyerly career writing op-eds in favour of migration and calling herself an activist, and then becomes a federal judge, and from that seat allows all sorts of undesirables to remain in Canada on weak grounds, people are free to draw a connection from A to B. When a judge, for example, spends his lawyer years advocating fiercely for more race-based law, and then later throws out gun charges of black men on his (unsupported) assertion that police were racist during their arrests, people are free to question whether he's really a fair adjudicator. When a judge, for example, says that a ban on drug trafficking is unconstitutional, and then *applauds* vigilante drug dealers for their self-proclaimed safe supply program — applauds them for supporting the business of organized crime and feeding the addictions of street people — that's beyond the pale. You're worried about democracy being poisoned? Worry about the judge who threw out Parliament's law against selling heroin because she felt it was "common sense" that it was supported by science. I agree that it's not right to criticize a judge personally for impartially applying the law and coming to an unpopular decision (which they may even privately disagree with). But when their professional history, or their conduct in court, suggests allegiance to a cause that they happen to be ruling softly on, it will get noticed. Bringing the administration of justice into disrepute is a two-way street, you know.

I had a hard time with philosophy of law beyond Hobbes and Hart. We will hand law Nazi law as not law but you also expect me to treat a Soviet show trial as impressive jurisprudence? "Living tree," "arc of progress, "secular natural law." No, power self justifies.

If the foreigner is equal to the farmer and the worker and merit is the measure, you are justified in forsaking the neighbour for the cheaper or "better qualified." But we have a duty to our neighbours and to the poor and disabled. Radical egalitarianism is immoral, cruel.

You are just laying out the justification for a degenerate society where capital rapes and exploits native workers for the benefit of an aristocracy of every benefit and none of the obligations.

This is preverse and unrecognizable to our founders. Canada is not America. Monarchism is a spiritual rejection of the kind of equality you describe. We were founded by martial reactionaries who believed in mutual duty, honour, and obligation. Your "merit" melts all they upheld

This is basically insoluble. We have a different understanding of the good life and the purpose of our society. I am for glory, duty, and posterity. I don't conceive of my country as an international hotel or as an arts and crafts project. Character is intergenerational.

It is not the destiny of the Canadian people to settle for training their replacements. This is insane to hold up as any kind of good. It is a pathetic sort of suicide.

Ironically, a desire to avoid the importation of caste is likely a large part of the impetus for posts like this, however misguided.
Forgive my French, but F off. We are, and always have been, a new world country that welcomes people of good will to make a better life than they had in their country of birth. Do you really think it’s Canadian to create a caste based society?

A nation of merit is a licentious degenerate polycule. A nation is the bonds of people. People who come together weak and strong toward an intergenerational future. It is exactly the liberal notion of merit that has enabled our elite to abuse and reject the poor and the weak.
Replying to @RestoreCanadaCa
Cultural stability in Canada includes saying no to caste systems and providing grounds for a better life through merit though, no? And what does it say about the vitality of demographics when so called “pur laine” Canadians aren’t having enough children to replace themselves? It’s not immigrants writ large that are the problem. It’s Canada’s failure to know its own history and culture and to propagate it to the next gen and to newcomers. Many new Canadians, including my own family, are more patriotic than the “grade A-C” people on that list. This is not the way.

Complaints? It is a public affair. The law is the law. It should not require a mass outpouring for the law to be enforced. If I defaced a statue of some random culture, I would be slapped with fines or imprisoned.

I read quite a bit about Cook earlier this year. He was a great and honourable man who embodied many of the greatest Anglo-Saxon virtues. He was a colonizer. He should stand in gold. He will stand in gold. We are going to gild him a statue, Geoff. These people will be forgotten
The people being filmed are the same ones who helped stage the destruction of James Cook's statue in Victoria, as well as that of Jack Deighton in Gastown the following year. Not in a general sense, they are literally the same individuals. They don't actually care about 'truth and reconciliation'. Racial score settling is their only motivation. If the authorities had the will, they could be easily prosecuted.

This is neither "truth" nor "reconciliation." This is vandalism, barbarism, and destruction.

@MarcMillerVM should be hauled in front of a kangaroo court and sent to a forced labour camp to mine salt with Dominic Barton. His contribution to the national rape was criminal and he should feel deeply ashamed.
