We now know what David Eby's Halloween outfit will be. Even in a Mark Carney costume, no one will confuse the premier with the prime minister, be it in stature, personality, or presence.
The NDP believed they were pushing the Conservatives into a snap election for which they were neither prepared nor keen to fight. Yet if the Conservatives pull things together early, they may well turn the tables on them.

Margareta publicly left the Liberal Party after the 2025 election, not before (when the CPC looked unbeatable), becoming a staunch critic of Mark Carney’s government when she could have taken a cushy job in Ottawa were she more cynical.

‘Are you with us or against us?’
Endorsements are one thing, but demanding that local municipal leaders take sides (or else) in the provincial election says a great deal about the premier’s character, and the word 'thug' comes to mind.
This is blatant election interference by David Eby and the BC NDP government, and it goes way beyond mere shamelessness.
I'll say that I have good friends and family who are staunchly progressive, habitual NDP voters. They find Eby repellent, and will vote Green or stay home.

The BC NDP disqualified Eby’s only opponent in their leadership race, crowning him Premier without a single vote cast.
They are in no position to ever judge any other party on their internal processes. They focus on this instead of the economy, jobs, health?

Maybe relates to Musqueam's planned Lelem community on "the lands now known as the University Endowment Lands." @Dave_Eby told me this spring Musqueam were "seeking a significant relationship" with @UBC re Lelem. If @CityofVancouver owned the land, given its permissive UNDRIP strategy, it might conceivably give that land to Musqueam. Certainly, the city would likely be more pliant, with less development rules than UBC.
UBC's authorities don't want amalgamation.
Demanding the province essentially annex UBC to Vancouver (opening the forested endowment lands to mass real estate development) on camera is hostile takeover stuff.

And prefers hiring foreign doctors to refunding the medical schools. Hell, Eby even bragged about how it was 'cheaper'. I'd rather invest into British Columbians.
Fun (or rather, miserable) fact: it was the 1990s NDP government that decided the province had too many doctors and slashed the funding to train them.
That’s why you almost certainly know someone who had to pack up and move to Dublin to become a doctor, leaving family and friends behind, often for good.
David Eby wants to “encourage” everyone else to buy BC and Canadian.
Meanwhile under his government, BC Ferries awarded the biggest capital procurement in its history to a Chinese shipyard.
