My @statesman colleague, @FBugenhagen_, was denied entry to the Ben Shapiro talk hours after the below story published. Turning Point USA said she could attend as an individual but not conduct interviews. Her sources say TPUSA also denied other outlets⬇️ statesman.com/news/education…

I got in but late and I’ve been told I’m not allowed to operate as a “reporter” in general admission and that the event was “private” but “open to the public” — I’m in the crowd now but was told to “respect my non press capacity” + not document anything inside

(I had separately asked TPUSA for press credentials, which were denied this afternoon because of “overwhelming demand.” They said nothing about whether I could enter via general admission tickets, which were still available as of yesterday).

I was also removed from the event as soon as I got through security. I had a general admission ticket but was told by security that TPUSA had passed around a photo of me in order to kick me out.

Meet a mother still living in the home where her adult son died, after he fell through the floor into an old gold mine. I worked with ABC News and our sister stations across the country to quantify the danger from below -- 47,000 abandoned mines in California, at least the ones we know about. That number is from state officials, but they aren't counting mines on private or federal land. Watch my report here: abc7news.com/19915082/

Extraordinary account from Bloomberg of what it now takes to move oil through Hormuz. One tanker captain describes sailing at night with no navigational lights, phones or AIS, hugging the Omani coast under U.S. military protection, and maneuvering around a vessel that had just been attacked. His own ship was later targeted. The risks are so high that crews are being paid multiples of their normal salaries, with one shipowner reportedly offering six months of extra pay for Hormuz shuttle duty. More oil may be getting through, but at very high risk and cost. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
