The fact that Mike Johnson is intentionally keeping congress from convening while the president commits blatant treason with Russia, is also blatantly treasonous.

As I wrote over a year ago, it would only take a handful of GOP Senators to stand up to Trump and grind his agenda to a halt until he ceased his actions against Ukraine and on behalf of Russia. Instead, they tweeted and signed letters that Trump ignored. Do something.
Reminder: Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, and Bill Cassidy are all current sitting Senators. They have the ability to do more than complain and put out statements. If they don’t act now, when they have real power, I don’t want to see them on TV in four months opining.

Not a word on Twitter still about the flagrantly authoritarian and racist raid on Ilhan Omar’s home by the Trump administration from multiple top Democrats, including shamefully @SenSchumer, but glad Barack Obama is finally speaking out on it. Other Dems should follow his lead.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Trump’s endorsement of Netanyahu is political suicide ahead of the midterms, yet he did it anyway He risked his own political future for Bibi, and that speaks volumes about Israel’s influence over Trump and U.S. politics

This is what billionaire ownership of the media means: Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta shut down the No Kings account for hours during the height of their protests. Meta suppressed accounts supporting Brazil President Lula da Silva in the recent election. Larry Ellison’s TikTok blocked advertising for a documentary criticizing Elon Musk. Fight back. Defeat oligarchy. Preserve democracy.

TWENTY BILLION DOLLARS IN RUSSIAN OIL ASSETS AND GUESS WHOSE FRIENDS ARE FIRST IN LINE Lukoil is selling off its international empire. Oil fields. Refineries. Gas stations spanning the globe. Valued at twenty billion dollars Who's bidding. A guy named Todd Boehly who personally handed Trump's political operation two million dollars Standing next to him. Investors out of Abu Dhabi controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed The same sheikh who just bought a massive stake in Steve Witkoff's company. Witkoff. Trump's handpicked envoy supposedly negotiating peace, not profit Then there's Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Business partners with the Qatari al-Khayyat brothers. The same brothers circling this exact deal Donald Trump waives sanctions on Russia days before they take effect. No explanation given to the public. None And the people positioned to cash in on that exact decision are his son-in-law's business partners, his envoy's new investor, and a two-million-dollar donor Ukraine loses territory and leverage. Americans lose a law their own Congress passed to choke Putin's war machine Mitch McConnell objects. Susan Collins objects. Republicans objects. Doesn't matter. Trump signs it anyway Putin's own envoy is on Telegram calling this a historic moment. He's not wrong. Historic for who gets rich Frozen Russian reserves. Pipeline access. Investment projects. All of it opening up right as Trump's inner circle lines up at the door This isn't foreign policy. This is a liquidation sale with Trump's family and friends holding the only invitations And every ordinary American paying more at the pump gets to watch Trump's in-laws get richer off the deal that caused it Remember this the next time they tell you sanctions relief is about diesel prices

The presidential pardon power is out of control on both sides of the aisle, and I think it should end. There are literally people who are pardon brokers who are being paid $300,000 to get close to Trump and to buy a pardon. Ban the presidential pardon.

Please remember that Marco Rubio is not only Secretary of State; he is also Trump's National Security Advisor. He owns every one of these decisions and is just as morally bankrupt as Trump is. Stop pretending otherwise.

“we will pay any price….to assure the success and survival of liberty.” Is this still true? Do we prize liberty or do we prize power and purse? No more clear test than the choice between Ukraine and Russia. Abandon Ukraine and we abandon liberty. Eventually even our own.

Vance is confronted by the emotional husband of a soldier killed in Iran War and acts like he had no idea anyone ever died: Q: It's a hard price to pay. There's a failure in the leadership. How will the leadership be held accountable? Vance: If there were failures... This is the first time I've heard of this.
