The Cornell story is a political OP.
The backbone of the Dem. party currently is single college educated women. This is to drive a narrative and engagement in the final four weeks leading to the mid-terms -- nothing more.
This is an "Us v. Them" effort, with the GOP being identified as the "frat boys."
The incident was 2 years ago -- Oct. 19, 2024 -- during the Biden Administration.
There is a single-spaced 6 page statement of an interview given by the young woman. She made handwritten corrections to the text when she read it, and confirmed at the time it was accurate and complete.
She filed a civil lawsuit Sept. 16, 2026.
She had a 20 year statute of limitations to file a civil case based on allegations of rape.
She had 3 years to file a civil case based on other tortious causes of action based on personal injury or negligence.
Yet here we are with it dominating the news cycle 4 weeks prior to the election.
This has been posted elsewhere but I'll repost it here in case some haven't seen it.
The Local DA declined to prosecute based on her six page typewritten statement because within the statement -- signed by her -- there were FACTS set forth establishing no crime was committed by one or all of the young men involved. Not that the evidence wasn't sufficient -- but evidence provided by her established NO CRIME was committed.
Cornell conducted a Title IX investigation under the Civil Rights Act as was required by the U.S. Dept. of Ed. Office of Civil Rights of any college that receives federal funds.
The investigation established that the conduct took place, and that the conduct violated school policy. It wasn't the place of the Title IX Office to offer a view on whether the conduct was a crime.
Seven young men were involved:
Two were expelled.
Two were suspended -- one for 2 years, and one for 3 years.
One had already graduated -- he was declared persona non grata and barred from returning to the campus.
Two were ordered to undergo counseling and perform "self-awareness" projects.
Those final two did not engage in any activity with the young woman. Their only "offense" was entering the room in response to an text message invitation.
Now Leticia James has been directed by the Gov to conduct an independent criminal investigation.
Sally Yates -- former Dep. Attorney General under Obama -- is being brought in by Cornell to review the sufficiency of the Title IX investigation.
College educated women all.
THIS IS A POLITICAL OP.
