You keep missing the point, or deliberately ignoring it: Finals appearances and losses do not close the championship gap between LeBron and players who won more than he did. If you argue that they do, you’re assigning those appearances enough value to compensate for fewer titles. So answer the question: how many second-place finishes make up for one championship? That is your argument taken to its logical conclusion. Contend with it.
Why? You let the fact that guys like Kobe and Curry have been better at getting eliminated earlier benefit their cause “Made it to 10 finals” is a bad thing Who cares if the ones below him couldn’t even get there. Yall need to hype up first round exits, missing the playoffs, losing in the play in tourney because they are not “finals losses”

Cause they don’t care. They’re not looking into nuance, the only thing they care about is protecting the ego of their guy at any cost necessary, even if it comes at the cost of their dignity. Thats where I draw the line. I don’t love any athlete to go THAT far

They brag about LeBron reaching 10 Finals, despite losing most of them, then use those appearances to close the gap with players who won more championships. But ask them to explain the exchange rate, how many Finals losses equal one championship, and suddenly they have nothing to say. They love the implication. They just refuse to defend it.

Use your logic to explain how 6 championships is more than 11?? And how you reverse this logic to explain 6 is more than 4

The Finals losses logic just says losing is better, it says choking a 3-1 lead in the first round is better than what LeBron did in 2007,2015 and 2018. Makes absolutely zero sense and is rooted in willful ignorance

I dont think a 2nd place makes up for a chip, but I do think if a player Young like under 4 years is the main player that wills a young team to a finals appearance is an accomplishment.

Remove Finals wins, losses, and appearances. That only makes the case worse for LeBron. 23yrs in the league and his only accomplishment is accumulation of points. That's it. I Remove the Finals from the start of the debate. It's like checkmate in less than 3 moves.

This is such a dumb way to view basketball. So players aren’t allowed to get praise for carrying teams farther than expected? If that’s the case then you’re better off missing the playoffs if your team is ass or else youl get criticized for eventually losing due to lack of talent

Second most finals mvps already puts him in top 2 conversation. I don’t care about your order but if you don’t have Jordan and LeBron in your top 2, your criteria is flawed.

What about finishing 10th ? Or 14th ?

The point ppl always miss is we’re talking “best basketball player”. Basketball is a team sport and comes down to a lot more than 1 individual player. Can we actually focus on Bron the player first instead of focusing on his teammates / finals record ? This isn’t tennis or Golf

Does a 2nd place finish count more or less than winning a ring as a sidekick like Kobe did for 3 or Steph did for 2?

No player has won more championships than LeBron since he joined the league Additionally, no player won more rings than LeBron in the 2010s (his prime) Additionally, no player has won more playoff series, playoff games, or reg season games than LeBron since he joined the league

I think it helps when tied on chips. Like curry and Bron, then you like at trips. Kobe maybe similar argument in context, since Kobe won 2 maybe 3 as best player and Bron won 4 as best player and made more trips. But Bron vs MJ, the trips has no real weight or sway for me.

always back to MJ 6-0. You literally ask the question they don’t answer. Answer me this, if warriors, spurs, mavs, lakers are so great why does them losing “earlier” to each other doesn’t matter to LeBron fans. Kobe losing to mavs vs LeBron losing to them in finals is the same
