🇧🇿 | Building the trust layer between AI agents and commerce | PS: I love cars

MIA/NYC
Meta and Sierra just published the Personal Agent Protocol, a standard for how AI agents introduce themselves to businesses. v1 lets an agent say who it is. It can't tell the merchant whether to trust it. Knowing an agent's name isn't the same as knowing whether to say yes.
50
The hard part isn’t the agent clicking buy. It’s giving the rest of commerce enough confidence to accept what the agent is doing

Muse agents are buying from brands direct now, not Amazon. Every rail is racing to be the cheapest way for agents to plug in. The race that matters starts after the agent acts: can the merchant trust what just showed up to buy?

Agentic commerce needs a trust network that helps merchants and agents meet on common ground.

The next step for agentic commerce is making trust travel with the customer across the places they shop.

Agentic commerce needs a trust network that works across the places people already shop.

Agentic commerce needs a trust network people can build on. The next step is making trust work across the places agents shop.

Dear founders, You can choose a giant fund with 47 partners, 12 group chats, and someone subtweeting about your cap table, while giving you their personal opinion on which board member you should pick… (their financial gain) Or a small, nimble fund that works its ass off, picks up the phone, and stays out of the drama. I’ll love to work with you 🙂

Massive win for Miami. Carnegie Mellon bringing its world-class AI, engineering, robotics and entrepreneurial talent to the city combined with the capital and financial ecosystem being built by Citadel has the potential to create a powerful new flywheel: talent → technology → capital → companies. Miami is still in the early innings. The opportunity to build the talent density and infrastructure to keep pace with technological change is enormous. The potential economic impact is even bigger.. @citsecurities @CityofMiami @CarnegieMellon
Today, Carnegie Mellon University and Ken Griffin, founder and CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst, announced a historic $3 billion gift to elevate Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and launch Carnegie Mellon University Miami. #CMUMiami Learn more: cmu.edu/news/stories/archive…

Amazon blocking Meta's Muse is the tell. Agentic commerce isn't just a payments problem. It's merchant permission, agent identity and accountability. Merchants need control over who acts. Everyone needs a neutral record of what happened. That's the trust network we built.
Amazon cuts off Muse. While I am bullish Meta and Muse, I think many people are overlooking the digital knife fight that’s about to occur Nobody wants to get commoditized or layered here. Let the games begin

The piece I still can't find is who unwinds it if the authority was wrong? What replaces the platforms of today as liability gatekeepers?

You should always prioritize people who are excited to see you, speak with you and give you their time as you do yours. People who do not do so, or are always “busy” are not worth your effort. Time is the most precious resource you have, don’t waste it on the unenthusiastic.
