🚨IT'S OFFICIAL: Arthur Hayes-founded crypto exchange BitMEX has SHUT DOWN trading after more than 11 years. Trading and deposits ended at 04:00 UTC today. Users can still log in and withdraw funds, but remaining balances are subject to account fees. BitMEX announced the closure on July 23, saying its owner decided to close the exchange after reviewing the business and broader crypto industry. BitMEX once handled roughly 57% of global crypto derivatives trading.
