Most people find out that buying expensive shit doesn't increase happiness at all.
To test it, try your dream car, buy expensive gadgets, see how you feel, and then consider if it was worth it afterward.
Want a Patek or AP? Go for it. If you don't like them, just sell them. It's not like they lose 100% of their value overnight. Low-risk investment, and you can see if status items are something for you.
But with that said. No matter how wealthy you are, death is inevitable. Thus, the only limited resource you have is time. Invest money to purchase time. Use money to run experiments. Invest money to improve your quality of life.

$LPTH x Drone Tariffs x Government Funding
What happens when the government taxes imported thermal cameras at 100% and funds domestic ones in the same document?
@skrubin, on his interview with @michaelsikand hinted that funding is coming. Thursday, @realDonaldTrump signed a proclamation with a funding program inside it.
Here's Sam's line from the interview.
"We're definitely going to have something coming... I don't know if it would be a loan or an equity or a grant. There are different vehicles that DoW is deploying... I'm pretty sure there's going to be something. I can't share what, but there will be."
What triggers the top tariff rate;
"drones with a maximum takeoff weight of more than 25 kilograms and drones with thermal imaging capabilities"
Two triggers > Size, or thermal. A small drone nowhere near that weight limit still cops the full 100% if it carries a thermal camera. And it covers critical components, not just the aircraft.
The smoking gun buried near the bottom:
"The Proclamation authorizes the Secretary of Commerce to establish an onshoring program for companies making new investments in manufacturing drones and drone components."
Washington has decided the thermal camera is what makes a drone a national security item and taxed the imported version at 100%. And in the same document, authorised a program to fund companies building that stuff onshore.
Sam again, on what the money is actually for;
"we're in discussions with different groups in the government about that, potentially doing some things together to scale the manufacturing even further"
$LPTH makes infrared optics in Orlando, critically with no Chinese germanium. Sam suggested that more than 75% of American drones will end up carrying @lightpathtech optics.

Sam couldn't say what form it takes, but a day later the government stood up a program that funds exactly what he was describing 👀🫦
