A grim, dark, slog about the Peasant Revolt also has Robin Hood? Is a crossover with “The Death of Robin Hood?” No one wants to see this stuff!

Robin Hood was long dead by Wat Tyler’s day.

It’s not a Robin Hood movies. It’s a movie about a real uprising that led to the creation of the character of Robin Hood. It’s not about the character, it’s about what inspired the character. However if I’m wrong, itonyamovie

Andrew Garfield isn’t playing Robin Hood. He’s playing the guy whose rebellion helped inspire the legend.

No no no. Wat Tyler was a hero in his own right as were the other leaders of the rebellion this does not need to be spun by the retards in Hollywood into another Robin Hood movie. Ffs.

Looks like another over serious raw take on the outlaw, judging by the colour palette. The best version is still the Disney one with the Fox... nice arch, happy ending

Are they going to accurately portray that he stole back taxes that were taken from the poor and not simply stole from the rich? Or is this going to be more of the same twisted socialist nonsense?

Wrong King. Wrong era. Oh, & btw - Wat Tyler was a REAL, documented person, not folklore! Which numpty wrote the script? Don't let them near any other 'historical' drama - imagine The Alamo being about a skirmish with Napoleon's army! 🙄

Hollywood is so stupid. They do the Hugh Jackman Robin Hood movie, now this one? Did some asshole say, “we gotta do more Robin Hood everyone!” Here we go again.

Does the Robin Hood name actually drive more people to see this or have they just put off their original intended audience

Here I thought it was a movie about the peasant revolt in 1381 (story that inspired the Robin Hood story)

I mean, it's robin hood. Them having yet another interpretation is *fine* But it would have been cool if this was a period piece about the peasants revolt alone. That was one of the more interesting periods of Medieval england.

Nothing has ever come close to Richard Carpenters version in the 80s. The pagan stuff took it to another level.

I like Disney's Robinhood with the fox, Robinhood men in tights, and the movie princess of thieves with Keira Knightley. Besides that I don't really care. I'm a little peeved that it's not just going to be about some guy.
