I think most people would admit when they are wrong when needed. But admitting that your opponents are right? That's a lot harder step.

I had high hopes for South Park after that 1st episode seemed back to normal, but this week's episode *literally* had a character lecturing the audience over and over. It actually made me more pro-billionaires and more pro-AI because it was so heavy-handed. So disappointing.

The 9 games that have shaped my life in gaming and/or in socializing with friends. In the case of "Psychonauts," also genuinely in how I conceptualize art and psychology as well. ("Psychonauts 2" was a bit of a let-down)
This was herculean challenge and I had to really think of the games that shaped me, not necessarily my favorites (although there's a lot of crossover). Video games have had such an impact on my lifeand gotten me through some very tough times.

I feel like pretty much everyone agrees that robbing from a charity is extremely scummy, even if the person who robs it is poor. That is functionally what all these economic migrants claiming to be refugees is. People should frame it that way more.

We've been told for years that transgender people's lives are in constant danger, and we must acquiesce to their every demand or they will die. And the press parroted it because they believed in the cause. But how many "noble lies" can you tell before you lose track of reality?
The Boston Globe has just published a shockingly sober article about the nonexistent genocide supposedly targeting the transgender community. In it, they cite a report I coauthored showing that the murder rate is actually lower for trans-identifying people than the general population. Our report was responding to the HRC's annual reports pushing the narrative that there is an ongoing "Epidemic of Violence" against the transgender community. The reporter says he "offered the Human Rights Campaign's key researcher, the transgender woman Charleigh Flohr, or anyone else with the organization an opportunity to rebut the Manhattan Institute finding, but they didn't reply to me." That's unsurprising because the HRC is engaging in fundraising propaganda. They don't care about the truth, only promoting the narrative. Our report presenting the actual data is irrefutable. That's why they have nothing to say in response. You can read our report summary in @CityJournal here: 🔗city-journal.org/article/hum… Or explore our comprehensive report here: 🔗dont-shoot-the-data.github.i… Read the Boston Globe article here: 🔗archive.ph/VqhlI

"Fear is a strange soil. Mainly it grows obedience like corn, which grows in rows and makes weeding easy. But sometimes it grows the potatoes of defiance, which flourish underground." -Sir Terry Pratchett, "Small Gods"

It is useful to think of criticism as pruning: snip off little bits that are weighing the plant down or making it sick, so it can flourish even better. The Left-wing in the US & UK have decided there should be no limit to the pruning, and have been killing our glorious flower.

Most ideologies that gain popularity treat social capital like the average mega-lottery winner: spending it frivolously under the delusion that it will never run out. But it always does, unless you invest it wisely.

I have never been so filled with hate and murderous intent as the average American Left-winger seems to be, even while they speak endlessly of love and acceptance. Their world would be perfect...if it didn't have *you* in it

I used to make fun of Bill O'Reilly for only talking about the "far Left" to the point that I didn't think he believed there was a moderate Left. Now do that for every mainstream news agency and the "far Right." I'd love for these journalists to define an acceptable Right-wing.

The revealed preference from Leftists is that poor people: are entitled to convenience, should never have to sweat, should never have to sacrifice, and should never be punished for lawbreaking. If you think that's a strawman, then you should really reevaluate your arguments.
