The age-based, five-year eligibility model has been put forward as membership-proposed legislation for the 2027 NCAA Convention, similar to the changes recently implemented by DI and DII. Details on implementation, per the legislation (link below): “This proposal intends to establish an equitable implementation timeline providing current student-athletes with eligibility remaining after the 2025-26 academic year the benefit of whichever model is most advantageous, while exploring avenues to protect student-athletes finishing their eligibility during the 2026-27 academic year.” The proposal, brought forward by the A-R-C and OAC, will continue to be a focus for the DIII Analysis Working Group.
