😳 A leisure centre is facing scrutiny after complaints of men 'giving their genitals a good wash' in front of kids.
Families taking their kids for a swim say the poolside showers have become completely unacceptable. 😠
People using the Westcroft Leisure Centre are regularly faced with men stripping down in the open.
One local mother said she and her friends are frustrated after continually seeing elderly gentlemen pull their shorts down to wash their privates.
And it is not an isolated issue. ❌
Councillor Nick Mattey says the situation has caused a really big stink in the community.
“You have people going in there facing women and children and giving their genitals a good washing," he said.
One mother we spoke to believes some people might be doing their daily wash at the pool to save money on water bills during the cost-of-living crisis.
But she insists the lack of privacy is deeply uncomfortable and blames the poor design of the building rather than individual behaviour.
The open showers have been in place since 2013.
Sutton Council has now asked the operator, Everyone Active, to review its procedures.
Locals say the nearby Waddon Leisure Centre proves that offering separate, private showers is a simple fix.
Until changes are made, the communal layout remains as it is.
