BREAKING: The Red Sea Economy, Bold Reforms That Led Nigeria Nowhere The IMF has just released its list of Africa's fastest-growing economies for 2026, and the giant of Africa is missing. 1. Ethiopia - 9.2% 2. Guinea - 8.7% 3. Uganda - 7.5% 4. Rwanda - 7.2% 5. Benin Republic - 7% Nigeria, once Africa's largest economy and pride of the continent, is not even on the list. The last time Nigeria witnessed this kind of growth was in 2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan, when growth was inclusive and Nigerians could feel it in their pockets. The APC came and promised us "Bold Reforms." They told us we had to cross the Red Sea. They removed subsidy, floated the Naira, raised taxes, and told Nigerians to endure the pain for a brighter tomorrow. Eleven years after, we have crossed nothing. The reforms crossed the Red Sea, but left Nigerians stranded in Egypt. Today, smaller nations like Benin Republic are growing faster than us. Ethiopia, a country recovering from war, is growing at 9.2%. Guinea, Uganda, Rwanda, all leaving Nigeria behind. This is the tragic legacy of APC's economic policies. Reforms without a human face. Policies that enrich the few and impoverish the many. An economy that grows only on paper, while hunger grows in the streets. They broke the Naira, killed small businesses, drove factories out of Nigeria, and turned a productive nation into a begging nation. The world is moving forward. Africa is moving forward. But under the APC, Nigeria is moving backward. Come 16/01/27, we say NEVER AGAIN to APC propaganda and YES to Atiku’s Presidency. Vote ADC for a better Nigeria 🇳🇬

They are now arguing that Azumini proposed seaport cannot handle 5000 tons ship. This is how they spread ignorance to kill Igbo projects. Let's educate them with FACTS: 1. Azumini is NOT a river gutter, it's 19 nautical miles to the Atlantic. The Azumini Blue River joins Imo River which flows 240km directly into the Atlantic through Akwa Ibom. The corridor is just 35km to the sea. With dredging, it becomes a channel — same way Onne and Port Harcourt were dredged. 2. 5000 tons is SMALL even barges carry it. Do you know that ordinary river barges in Nigeria already carry 2000-8000 tons daily on the Niger? Calabar Port currently with only 9.5m draft handles 15,000-20,000 ton vessels. So anyone saying Azumini cannot handle 5000 tons doesn't know shipping. The plan is: Dredge to 10-12m depth like Calabar Use feeder vessels and barges to connect to Ibom Deep Sea Port and Onne Cargo moves from big ocean ships at Ibom/Onne to Azumini via barges, that is how 80% of ports work in the world (Rotterdam, Antwerp model). 3. The purpose is NOT to compete with Lekki, but to serve Aba. Aba needs raw materials IN and finished goods OUT. If Azumini handles even 5000-10,000 ton vessels, logistics cost for Aba manufacturers drops by 40-60%. That is the goal not bragging about big ships. 4. They said Onne cannot work, today Onne is Nigeria's most modern port. They said Ibom Deep Sea Port cannot work, construction has started. They always say Igbo projects cannot work. They want us to keep going to Lagos to clear goods and then pay N1.8m per truck to bring it to Onitsha. That suffering is their business. Azumini will work. The feasibility study will prove the dredging requirement, the draft, the cost and the design. Stop listening to people who have never built a jetty arguing about tonnage. SHARE to kill this propaganda. FOLLOW Eastern Reporters we give you facts, not lies. Image: Quality improved by Eastern Reporters

So this woman said was appointed to Commissioner of information by Peter Obi without ever meeting Peter Obi. She was a professor who studied Mass Communications at a time that the course was male dominated. Everywhere she went she was always the only woman. The day she found out she was Commissioner of information, she heard it on the radio. She decided she wasn't going to accept the position because she knows that once you accept such position and your principal doesn't work, you become a liar who does nothing but propaganda. Her family convinced her to go, after all if he didn't perform she could always quit and go back to her regular job. (I will come back to this point later). So she resumed and went to see PO and informed PO that she can't lie for him, and showed him her qualifications, PO just nodded. At the time they took over, all major donor organizations had left Anambra because a sitting governor,Ngige, was kidnapped. If you can kidnap a governor then no one was safe. PO was able to convince all of them to come back. At the time Anambra was not an oil producing state so the state was poor even though the state had many rich people. PO went to work using the little available resources. He did the MDG and appointed this lady to head it. They did so well, the white man was shocked that every kobo they gave PO he would account for so they gave him more. When their tenure ended PO was invited by the WHO and UN to come and teach them what he did, PO took her since she was the one in charge. He turned Anambra around and did everything he said he would do. Before him they had never see a policy document like the ANID. She said Peter Obi is not a saint but no one has ever governed like him and if he enters that presidency, you can bet he will do what he has said he would do. She said she once asked him how he is able to spend so much of his money in philanthropy and he told her that every year after doing everything he needs to do, he would have ₦2 billion, he would give his family ₦1 billion and use the other ₦1 billion for philanthropy. Yet someone is asking us about the price of his wife bags, but I digress, she didn't say that part. Anyway, one reason PO was successful is that he identified capable people who had real life and are not politicians, used them to work and when they were done, they went back to their regular life. He didn't need to "build" people that will make their livelihood to depend on politics hence they have to loot and do anything to stay there because outside politics they have nothing. Nigeria will be okay by the grace of God.
Prof. Stella Okunna has revealed on Gbam Interview that when Peter Obi appointed her as the commission for information in Anambra State, she was scared because she did not know who Peter Obi was and the character he possessed. Prof. Stella explained that she had not met Peter Obi before she was appointed as the Commissioner for information and the day she met him for the first time, was the day he swore her and other appointees into the Anambra state civil service. She said she wanted to turn down the offer because she did not know what kind of person he was and if he is someone who lies but she was persuaded by her family to take the job. She explained that the first day she had a meeting with Peter Obi, she told him that as his commissioner for information, she would not tell lies on his behalf or forge any information to paint him as a saint in the eyes of the public. Prof. Stella said when Peter Obi hears this, he smiled and told her that she will not have to worry about that when working with him and he would make sure that nothing like that happens in his administration. She further revealed that throughout her time working with him, Peter Obi kept to his words and didn't ask her to publish any false information as the Commissioner for information and his Chief of Staff. She concluded by calling Peter Obi a world class Governor. Admin Ekwulobia. @ruffydfire @OjyOkpe @charlesaniagolu please invite this lady to hear first hand from her

The SDP Presidential Candidate Prince Adebayo Adewole continues to shred APC Presidential candidate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC during meeting in Oyo State. “Bola Ahmed Tinubu, let me you just something that will make you understand. Tinubu doesn’t want to be your president, he doesn’t care. He doesn’t like the job of a president. Tinubu doesn’t want to stay in Aso Rock and sign papers, he doesn’t want to talk you. He doesn’t want to supervise the ministers. Tinubu’s is only around because he wants to pack money, that is why he is not struggling for anything. He doesn’t even like the job of a president, and he doesn’t like to talk like a president or behave like a president. He is only there because he wants to pack money. Tinubu’s business plan before was - I will be sponsoring people to office and make profit out of it. After a while he realized, look, this people am sponsoring, there is not enough money is coming back, let me go do things by myself. But to listen to you, give you education and healthcare, if you die, Tinubu doesn’t care. He will make money from your funeral. Tinubu himself will tell you he is not good. What we need to do is to ask ourselves - if you the one president and he is thief, you have the second president and he is a thief and you have the third president and he is a thief, then something is wrong with you. why are you always choosing a thieves? This time around, we are in danger. I want you to understand that Tinubu is not a mistake, Tinubu is punishment for the kind of politics we have decided to do. I am saying that any country that allow that kind of character to climb, climb, climb and reach the top, something is wrong with that country and we must end it now”. This is Squadron Leader Ahamefule Man-Ugwueje, the pilot identified in initial reports as one of the crew of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft that crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, 2026. Man-Ugwueje, son of retired Group Captain Man-Ugwueje, had just gotten married on September 19th to his wife, Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle, daughter of the late Wing Commander O.E. Adekunle. Both families have a long history of military service. Tragically, just over two weeks after their wedding, while the couple was still on their honeymoon, he died in active service to his country. Sqn Ldr Ugwueje was among the 32 persons on board the aircraft — 25 passengers and 7 crew members — who lost their lives in the crash. He is survived by his young wife, parents, and family. God comfort them, and give him rest!

Today, I was invited to the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France to discuss how we can implement PISA in Nigeria. In 2027, Nigeria will experience its first-ever PISA assessment, and by 2029, we aim to participate in the global education rankings. PISA measures how well students in a country can apply what they have learned in school to solve real-world problems. It goes beyond memorisation and examines whether education is actually preparing young people to think, reason and function effectively in society. In the last ranking, some of the strongest performances came from education systems in East Asia, including China. Through initiatives like this, Nigeria can gradually build and strengthen its global reputation. Over time, we can improve how the world sees our education system, our institutions and the quality of our human capital. One thing I learned from my conversations today is that much of Africa is waiting for Nigeria to rise. Nigeria’s progress has the potential to accelerate development across the continent. Our ambition must be bigger than improving our rankings. We must build an education system capable of producing young people who can compete anywhere in the world. Within the next 10 years, Africa can become a major source of the global workforce and Nigeria must lead that transformation.
