This shows what a Reform UK government would look like. No more freedom of the press. No scrutiny. With a party mired in dodgy finances and foreign crypto donations, investigative journalism has never been so important.

Politicians must accept the scrutiny of independent journalists. It is a disgrace that Reform is instead trying to have them jailed.

Why should an elderly person needing social care, or a vulnerable child needing protection, lose essential services because their council disagrees with your immigration policy?

I’m one of the 94% of lesbians who are cool with trans people. Rowling does not speak for me and I’d go as far as saying she actively creates a hostile environment which makes me as a C1S lesbian woman less safe.

The next day, a man spewing far-right abuse came to physically attack my office and has returned multiple times to intimidate, abuse and cause damage. He has since been convicted. The fight the Liberal Democrats 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 be focused on is our fight against this kind of hate and division that affects so many, fuelled by far-right populists across our country. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 is the fight that matters. Ed Davey has been leading us in that liberal fight, and I absolutely back him in doing so.

For goodness sake - do you honestly think this is the most important issue in our schools? 🙄 I’d say unfair funding, lack of staff, budget stress, SEND and poor buildings are probably more worth your time worrying about…

I listened to Ed Davey on the @BBCr4today this morning, and frankly, I think he missed the point. The idea that we're keeping the triple lock to help millennials is at best for the birds, and at worst downright insulting. I say that as a millennial. The case for the triple lock is a worthy one - stopping pensioner poverty. I want that as much as anyone. But pensioners are now less likely to be in poverty than children or working age adults. We talk about fairness, yet our answer is to give the same increase to every pensioner, treating the one choosing between heating and eating exactly the same as the one with millions in the bank. I can see no moral or fiscal case for above inflation rises for millionaires. That money should go where it's needed most - to everyone in poverty, not just one group. It could help fund free personal care, a policy that would disproportionately benefit older people. Ed is right that we shouldn't pit one generation against another. But intergenerational inequality is already one of the defining injustices of our time, and this would further entrench it. Worse, it gaslights an entire generation into believing it's for our benefit. Telling millennials we're keeping the triple lock to help us in 30 years' time is nonsense. We're on course to be the first generation worse off than our parents. We're locked out of the housing market, paying higher taxes, repaying student loans that never seem to shrink, and putting off having children because of the cost of living. I joined this party because I care about fairness and tackling inequality, and that has to include inequality between generations. This line, and this decision, fails on both counts. Ed needs to think again.

I was so glad yesterday to see, as we have before and will again, Liberal Democrats standing up for trans rights to protect human kindness. The EHRC guidance is unworkable and I’m proud of our party for showing once again our fervent support for Liberty, Equality, & Community.

This has to be the start of a real effort to end the social care catastrophe. @AndyBurnham says he’s willing to spend political capital on this - and so am I. I’ll fight to ensure family carers aren't forgotten. We need cross-party consensus, and I hope the PM’s door is open.

In covering Trump, today has been one of the wildest days. The meandering and staggeringly contradictory news conference and the trumpeting of a ‘deal’ that amounts to something so far short of that… And then, just now, we’re told that Trump had signed the ‘deal’... Except an ‘administration official’ (you can guess who) told us on Monday that POTUS had signed it on Sunday (remotely – with the autopen he’s spent every week bashing Biden about?) This is what we were told on a background call on Monday: “So, first of all, we have now signed some understanding with Iran, the President and I both signed it, Speaker Ghalibaf on the other side signed it, and the memorandum provides a few basic things….” And it’s still due to be signed in person by the vice president (who apparently already signed it) on Friday. There has been a breathtaking level of lopsided diplomacy today. It’s been bewildering. My favourite part has been how adeptly subtle the rest of the G7 leaders eye-rolling has been. There’s been some real diplomatic skill there. Other leaders can’t criticise. They know the wrath that will hit them. But we know that they know it’s been a disastrous shambles. It’s truly a shame and a stain on America. Often it takes a while for the dust to settle on mad war choices. Not this time. We knew before it began. So many school children died in Minab. For what? Trump couldn’t even admit that strike was America’s mistake. (It was, by the way - sources have told me that, but their political masters haven’t the guts to admit it yet). This Iran war has been a tragic and expensive waste of time that neither limits Iran’s malign influence nor makes America great again.
