Rocky has always been my favorite movie because it shows that with God, determination, sacrifice, and discipline, you can beat the odds.
Even when everything is stacked against you… you keep going.
That’s exactly how I feel about Chicago right now.

I’m ending Chicago’s sanctuary city policies, and I’m implementing an independent forensic audit of city government.
And YES, I’m going to hold a press conference every time we uncover waste, fraud, or abuse. If that means holding a press conference every day, then so be it.
Taxpayers deserve to know where their money went, how it was spent, and who was responsible for it.

One thing about me: you will not collect a taxpayer-funded salary and pension while the people you serve feel ignored and unsafe. Public officials are put in these positions to serve the people.
People ask me, “Danielle, as mayor, how are you going to make State’s Attorneys and judges do their jobs?”
A mayor cannot order a prosecutor to prosecute a case or order a judge to keep someone in jail. But I CAN use the mayor’s platform to demand accountability.
I can put pressure on the system. I can bring the facts before the public. I can call attention to cases and policies when Chicagoans believe the system is failing them. And I can make sure these issues DO NOT GO UNCHECKED.
Everything you’re experiencing in Chicago, I’m experiencing too. I live here. I see what’s happening. I know what it feels like when citizens speak up and feel ignored.

A gunshot victim lay undiscovered for nearly 30 minutes Monday after 911 callers heard shots but couldn’t tell exactly where they came from.
ShotSpotter, which could have pinpointed the location, was disconnected exactly 2 years ago today.

Brandon Johnson’s lifetime public pension benefits could reach approximately $5.5 MILLION, according to an Illinois Policy Institute analysis. And ultimately, those public pension benefits are funded through taxpayer-supported pension systems.
Meanwhile, Chicagoans are struggling to get help with basic needs — including housing. CFR witnessed that firsthand for three years, before CFR even became CFR.

Chicago Flips Red went to the Cook County committee meetings today looking for Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke and Commissioner Donna Miller — since Commissioner Miller has been a vocal advocate on issues involving domestic violence and women.
We want to know who can find Judge Clarence L. Burch, because CFR WANTS THAT TAPE RUN BACK.
We have video that we believe shows Paul McKinley putting his hands on Chicago Flips Red Vice President Danielle Carter-Walters inside a Chicago Public Library — A PUBLIC BUILDING THAT TAXPAYERS PAY FOR.
⚖️ ILLINOIS BATTERY LAW — 720 ILCS 5/12-3
Illinois law says battery occurs when a person, without legal justification, knowingly causes bodily harm to another person or makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature. Battery is generally a Class A misdemeanor. (Illinois General Assembly)
So we have questions.
What happened in that courtroom?
What did the video show?
Why did the case result in a not-guilty verdict?
And what legal avenue, if any, exists to have the evidence and proceedings independently reviewed?

Committee on Zoning, Landmarks and Building Standards
Committee on Police and Fire
Committee on Finance
And I’m not just now showing up because I’m running for mayor. I’VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR THREE YEARS.
For three years, I’ve been showing up at City Hall, sitting through these meetings, paying attention, speaking up, and holding our elected officials accountable.
I’ve been learning firsthand how this city operates and how decisions are made with OUR tax dollars.

🚨 COOK COUNTY — CFR IS PAYING ATTENTION
Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller represents the 6th District and is running for Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District.
During today’s Cook County proceedings, Chicago Flips Red observed Commissioner Bridget Degnen eating and engaged in conversation while a domestic-violence victim was speaking.
CFR has a serious problem with that.
When a domestic-violence victim comes before government officials to tell her story, LISTEN.
Donna Miller has publicly advocated on issues affecting women and domestic-violence survivors. What we witnessed today raises questions that we believe voters deserve to examine when considering her campaign for Congress.
