🚨LATEST: NEAR Intents’ $3.8M hacker has RETURNED every dollar.
Less than 24 hours after NEAR Intents publicly identified the alleged exploiter and gave them 48 hours to return the funds, the attacker sent the full $3.8M back.
The hacker also left an on-chain message acknowledging they were “in the wrong,” thanking the team for handling the return respectfully and urging NEAR to use bug bounties instead.
NEAR says the investigation is now being stopped following the full recovery.
⚡️UPDATE: The NEAR Intents attacker has RESPONDED.
The NEAR Intents recovery wallet received 1 BNB with a message saying:
“Willing to cooperate, reply with your Signal so contact is possible.”
The sender address is tagged on BNBScan as “NEAR Intents Exploiter 1” and was previously identified by ZachXBT as one of the primary addresses tied to the exploit.
The response came within Alex Aurora’s 48-hour window offering a path to cooperate, return funds and potentially receive a bounty.
If negotiations hold, the exploit could move toward RECOVERY rather than a prolonged laundering attempt.

🚨BREAKING: ZachXBT says alleged DPRK attackers are now shielding stolen Bitget funds through Zcash.
Around 2,700 $ZEC, worth $3.8M, has reportedly started moving into Zcash’s Ironwood.
This means the stolen ZEC is now being pushed into a shielded pool, where transaction details can be hidden and tracing becomes much harder.
Roughly 18,900 ZEC, worth $28.3M, was stolen from Bitget’s wider $388M breach across multiple assets.
Earlier, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen says she is “not very optimistic” about recovering the stolen funds.

The privacy system was not involved here at all.
Those funds were traced on Ethereum, the XRP Ledger and Tron, public chains anyone can read. SHIELD screens deposits and withdrawals, which are public by construction. None of it required opening a confidential balance.
Refusing to trade with a tagged address takes reading exactly nothing. Privacy held.
