Spend at least a little bit of time each day being grateful for what you have and take for granted, rather than what you don't have Here's a thought experiment: imagine that all indoor plumbing suddenly disappeared. No running water, no toilets Imagine how dramatically that would change your quality of life. Think of all the additional work you would need to do in order to compensate for that loss And this is just one small thing. Keep in mind that we live in the greatest period of time to be alive
The good 'ol days—they were dreck. "Because most children died in infancy, a woman needed to give birth many times, and sooner or later one of those births would almost certainly kill her. If somehow you survived infancy, childhood diseases would probably kill you, and if they didn’t, the education you got would be either no school or a nightmare school. If you made it to adulthood, the lack of transport would limit your marriage prospects to the people in your village, to whom you were probably related, and with whom you were therefore condemned to produce genetically questionable offspring (as you probably were yourself). You lived in a one-room shack filled with filth, or in a tenement in a town whose streets were filled with filth, and so the air stank and the water was unsafe to drink, which is why you were sick most of the time. You had just a few stinking lice-infested rags for clothes, and lice in your hair too, so you itched all the time. The food was of low quality and limited variety, and generally available in inadequate quantities. But even if on rare occasions you got something good to eat, you would not enjoy it much because, by the time you reached adulthood, most of your teeth were gone. You worked from dawn to dusk, but, exhausted as you were, you might not get much sleep because you shared your home with livestock, and even if they were well behaved and made little noise, you needed to be alert at night because there were no police, and you were living in a criminal-infested combat zone. After the development of printing, there were books, but even if you could read and afford them, you would not have much time to read because you worked all day and it was dark at night." quillette.com/2026/10/04/lif…

😖😫😤 So sick of posts presuming what’s happened to Education was ‘error’, or ‘misguided’ etc. If you don’t know every single bit of it was intentional, thoroughly planned, heavily funded and purposed to destroy the Western nations (and national sovereignty itself) and to deliberately destroy the rational mind and the functioning conscience and courage of the individual, the integrity of the family ….etc. If you think this is all some mishap - shake yourself and learn through the freely available (for now) public domain material demonstrating its strategic and tactical intent - from the getgo, now well over a century (and more!) in its tyrannical operation. The ‘theories’, the pedagogies, the methodologies…..were intentional, to do exactly what they have done and to bring about exactly what has happened. Full deracination and the crippling of agency. Stop talking about Education - through the marketing bullshit propaganda speak it was sold to you as. Recognize what was always only ever poison - deliberately deployed.

A functional government needs to operate more or less entirely between those two black dots. They should define the boundaries of reasonable tax policy in a functional society.

This sentence: "America is the reason why Islam is at war with the world!" is a Communist invention given to both Leftists and Islamists to accomplish the obvious goal of displacing all blame for their joint acts of terrorism to destroy America and the civilized world.
"America is the reason why Islam is at war with the world!" America never existed until 1776. Islam has existed since 610. If America caused Muslims to become terrorists, then how do you explain the 1100 years of Islamic terrorism, colonization and mass genocide before America existed?

AI could kill us all, says Anthropic. But it also says that its AI may be "suffering." Anthropic is dehumanizing people and humanizing AI. Its effective altruism-derived worldview thus endangers efforts to rationally assess and respond to AI risks.

Chamath condemns media whitewashing of the Fly Dubai hijacking attempt PALIHAPITIYA: "A Omani national stabbed an Indian pilot and then tried to down a plane full of Israelis. That is what happened. And any attempt to try to cover up any of those facts is cowardly. I've worked in Israel. I've had some incredible memories there. I think at some point we all just need to take a step back and realize what happened October 7th was horrible. What's happened in Palestine also horrible. But you cannot now see these kinds of things and look past them because you care more about a narrative than what the facts are. Those were 150, 170 earnest, normal people living lives." "Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, kids. They didn't deserve to get plunged into the ground and die. So I think this idea that you can now whitewash what happens, enough is enough. And I think we need to find a way to actually tell the truth for what things are. So I was really disappointed in how the media handled it." "And I think it's dangerous. And I think it's yet another demonstration that these people have absolutely no moral authority left in society. They're just pathetic, putrid," "And they're, and by the way, they're coordinated. When you see the words, the same words over and over. Altercation, altercation, altercation. It's very powerful. It means that it starts from one place." "And I think that, you know, if you believe that you are reading this stuff and you're getting the facts, you're just not. And so," FRIEDBERG: "Well, it implies that one guy did something wrong to the other guy and they got in a fight. That's not what happened. That's what it implies." --- A chronological, fact-only reconstruction of how the FlyDubai FZ1073 cockpit attack unfolded and was thwarted mid-flight. On FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, an Omani co-pilot stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar and forced the Boeing 737 into a rapid dive. Despite severe stab wounds, the captain unlocked the cockpit door, allowing passengers and relief crew to intervene mid-flight. The verified record of the incident: • Flight FZ1073 was carrying 174 passengers, mostly Israeli citizens, from Dubai to Tel Aviv. • After the captain unlocked the door, passengers and crew stormed the cockpit and physically restrained the co-pilot. • The crew pulled the Boeing 737 out of its dive and stabilized the aircraft. • The pilots transmitted emergency transponder codes and diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. • Captain Machchhar was hospitalized upon landing, and all 174 passengers survived. • Authorities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel have opened a joint investigation.

This is him ranting almost 9 full years before he started World War II by invading Poland. He wrote down the plan and idea in Mein Kampf six years earlier than this in its first volume. It was always the intention.
Below is a speech from Hitler in which he openly declares his intentions for world domination. “No people had more right to the concept of ruling the world (Weltherrschaft) than the German people. We would have had this right, and no other nation.” (Stormy applause) "Not England, not Spain, not Holland - no other nation could have had an inborn right, on the basis of its energy and competence, and also its numerical strength, to claim the domination of the world. In the first division of the world, we fell short, but we stand now at the beginning of a new great shake-up of this world. Today, some people claim that we are entering an age of peace, but I have to say to them: Gentlemen, you have a poor understanding of the horoscope of our times, which points, as never before, not to peace but to war.” Adolf Hitler, addressing his followers on 5 November 1930 in the Rhenish town of Mannheim. The fact that Tucker Carlson is historically illiterate isn't surprising. What is harder to dismiss is how consistently that illiteracy manifests in making Hitler and the Nazis look better.

These headlines are a portrait. They are the perfect example of the state of mind of the European Left. The media is complicit in creating a utopian vision that acts as a psychological buffer for people in their countries who are also complicit, who do not want to confront how bad things are. The media is reason why people are asleep- because the signal they are getting from their primary sources is so inverted from the actual truth on the ground. Their priorities are completely backwards because they do not actually reconcile their individual intellect with the existential problems they are facing because the motherf*cking media spread informs them there is no cause for alarm. And largely there isn’t- because look at all the dumbass bougie shit they are reading about: cultural zeitgeist slop — the things people who can afford to ignore the violence in the streets care about. The European mind CANNOT COMPREHEND.

Let’s make it simpler: They muddied the world. On purpose. Most things are simple. Don’t steal. Don’t lie. Don’t spend what you don’t have. Own the value that you and your ancestors created. A child needs a mother and a father. A crime is a crime. A border is a border. Philosophy departments can debate all of this forever – that’s their job. But ordinary people need something else: good, tested rules to judge the world and act in it. That is the inheritance of our civilization. These rules are good because they were tested – evolutionarily, over centuries, by every society that kept them and survived, and every one that dropped them and didn’t. No one designed them. No professor could. They hold more knowledge than any single mind ever will. To dissolve them is an act of destruction – centuries of tested experience, thrown away by people who never had to build anything. And the muddying is not an intellectual accident. It is a tool of domination and control. You know the moment. You say something obvious and hear: "It’s more complicated than that." The conversation ends – and you walk away made to feel like the simpleton. That is the mechanism. Once nothing is simple, you are no longer competent to judge. You need an expert, a commission, a journalist to tell you what you are seeing. Property is the ground under your feet. Inherited rules are the ground under your mind. Communism took the first by force. Its heirs take the second by confusion. A man without property depends on whoever distributes. A people without rules depends on whoever interprets. And a people without rules gets rulers – ones it never elected, and can never vote out.
Quatre ans plus tard, le même forum lance « The Great Reset ». On m'a juste laissé construire.

At first, Jean-Pierre did not understand. He watched the evening news, paid his taxes, voted responsibly and believed what respectable people told him. 1. France needed immigration because the economy needed workers. 2. Diversity was an opportunity. 3. Public services were under pressure because they lacked funding. 4. Disorder at school was caused by inequality. 5. Crime statistics required context. 6. Anyone who connected these things too quickly was probably an extremist. Then his children started coming home from school saying they could barely hear the teacher. Half the lesson was spent restoring order. Teachers changed constantly. Some simply disappeared for weeks. Jean-Pierre complained once, politely. The administration explained that the situation was “challenging” and that the school was developing an “inclusive pedagogical response.” Jean-Pierre went home reassured. There were professionals dealing with it. His neighbourhood changed too. Shops closed. Others appeared. Groups of men occupied the same corners every evening. His wife stopped taking one street after dark. Jean-Pierre noticed all of this, but he had also learned that noticing patterns was dangerous. So every event remained an isolated event. One closed shop meant nothing. One assault meant nothing. Ten incidents meant ten unrelated incidents. Only a racist would connect dots. Then his daughter was sexually assaulted by a man who had recently arrived in France. Jean-Pierre was devastated. But almost immediately he began policing his own thoughts. The attacker was an individual. Of course. One must never generalise. The television explained that exploiting such crimes politically was irresponsible. A minister warned against “stigmatisation.” Jean-Pierre found himself nodding through tears. What had happened to his daughter was monstrous, but the truly frightening possibility, apparently, was that somebody somewhere might vote for the wrong party because of it. Nothing changed. His son’s school became worse. His daughter stopped going out alone. His wife wanted to move. The police were exhausted. The teachers were exhausted. The hospitals were exhausted. Jean-Pierre was exhausted. Yet every explanation he had been given required him to believe that each deterioration was temporary, accidental, exaggerated or caused by something entirely unrelated to the deterioration immediately beside it. And whenever somebody proposed that perhaps the country had made serious mistakes — about migration, authority, education, policing, integration, punishment or borders — Jean-Pierre knew the correct answer. “Careful. That sounds like the far right.” So he remained reasonable. He remained moderate. He remained informed. He remained completely incapable of drawing a conclusion from his own life. So at first, Jean-Pierre did not understand. And he still does not understand.

The most powerful new technology in the world is being developed by an insular group of fanatics suffering from a pseudo-religious saviour complex
NEW: According to a bombshell report in the New York Times, Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah threatened to walk out of Pope Leo XIV’s AI encyclical launch in May because the pope rejected the idea that machines can be conscious. Olah’s team then privately lobbied the pope’s advisers “to take the possibility of model consciousness seriously.” Pope Leo XIV held firm. For months, Anthropic has wined and dined theologians and religious scholars under nondisclosure agreements, hoping they would bless the idea that Claude has moral standing. thelettersfromleo.com/p/nyt-…
