It's important to understand that Arday's suicide was a way out for the whole corrupt lot of them.
They've won, and they've established the threat of suicide as the winning argument.
Cambridge has abandoned its plan to investigate the hiring of Jason Arday. It will only investigate whether it offered him enough support.

The decline is truly terminal isn’t it. Nothing can or will shake it.
Cambridge is no longer planning to investigate Jason Arday’s academic record or the university’s decision to hire or cover for him.
Instead, the investigation will focus on “his welfare, his care, his well-being” and “whether the school offered him sufficient support amid accusations that he plagiarized.”

Purgatory on Peleliu. There are no living US survivors of this horrific and arguably futile battle, raging today in 1944. 1,794 Americans killed and 8,010 wounded in a 73 day battle. Of the 10,900 Japanese defenders, 10,695 were confirmed killed in action. Think about that.…The Americans captured just 202 men, mostly laborers. A chilling foretaste of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
