Eight years ago today, eleven worshippers were murdered at Shabbat services in Pittsburgh's Tree of Life synagogue, the deadliest antisemitic attack in American history. We remember them, we honor their memory, and we stay vigilant so no congregation suffers this again.

CST welcomes the additional funds announced today by the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary during their visit to CST’s Head Office. This is a vital emergency boost for security measures at a crucial time for the Jewish community, as we confront the aftermath of the appalling Islamist terrorist attack in Manchester. This fund will strengthen the security infrastructure protecting our synagogues, schools and community buildings, at a time when Jews remain, proportionally, the most likely victims of hate crime in the UK. We are grateful for this announcement and will continue to work closely with government and community partners: but the root causes of antisemitism and extremism must be acknowledged and tackled if long term change is to occur.

On this day we remember 27 murdered and hundreds injured in terrorist attacks outside two synagogues in Turkey, 2003. Among those who died, 19 year old Yoel Cohen Ulcer Z"L, protecting Beth Israel synagogue, just as @CST_UK @TheCSSorg and other volunteers protect every day.
