Labour talk about growth but nothing they do encourages it, in fact it’s the reverse. Make it cheaper and easier to hire, and you will get more jobs.
Instead they forced wages up with no growth so businesses hired fewer people or cut hours.
Growth comes from people, risk takers, not government and definitely not higher taxes, higher costs and more regulation. It’s common sense, If you make employing people difficult and expensive you will end up with fewer jobs and a smaller economy.
I want every government department to be a growth department.
We’ve made it a leading priority to buy British, not just if possible, but by design. So that every procurement pound supports British jobs, British apprenticeships and British innovation.
