Oh, don’t forget that she also destroyed the manufacturing industry, deregulated the media, sold off all of our precious assets and assisted Reagan to commence the largest distribution of wealth from the bottom to the top. We are still reaping the rewards of those failed policies

She also stole milk from kids, put half the country on the dole and sold the council houses so now councils are going bankrupt for paying housing benefit on the homes they used to own and collect rent on... I could go on but...

No, Margaret Thatcher never explicitly called Osama bin Laden a "freedom fighter." This common internet myth conflates her broad geopolitical stance during the Cold War with a specific statement about bin Laden that she never made. Stop lying.

Your references to Mandela and Bin Laden are just shite - but you know that. The other two? Pinochet may have been a cunt but he was a friendly cunt to the UK and its armed forces. Savike? I couldn’t care less about what she called him. Do better.

She was content to prolong, indeed enable, the Iran-Iraq war (nearly a million lives lost in conditions similar to WWI). She, very conveniently, rediscovered her moral judgement when Saddam invaded Kuwait. The Matrix Churchill scandal says much about the integrity of her regime.

Just about all political parties thought Savile was a brilliant fundraiser for Stoke Mandeville. Thatcher made no reported comments on Bin Laden but she did describe the Mujahideen as on the side of freedom - clearly that was some years before some elements morphed into terrorism. The New Statesman skewered the myth of Thatcher calling Mandela a terrorist some years ago. It isn’t true. She did regard the military wing of the ANC as a terrorist organisation though. You’re right on Pinochet but even that is complex given Chile’s staunch support for Britain in the Falklands War.
