Scaramucci is dead wrong. It's not the right who is afraid of Gavin Newsom running for president. It's the left. I happen to be friends with the biggest dem donors...they hate Gavin. All the things that Mooch claims as "positives" for Gavin are things that are just inherent to California, that exist despite his efforts to ruin the state.
Gavin has an undeniably atrocious record here, and we would be so much further along, but for Gavin's horrendous stewardship. He is the first and only CA governor to have negative net migration out of California. Bragging about California being an economic juggernaut, as if Gavin Newsom created the coastal real estate, the vineyards, Silicon Valley, the entertainment industry...all of the things that make California a powerhouse pre-date Gavin, of course, and he's actually destroying those assets that give us such an advantage over other states and countries.
All the prime real estate and vineyards are getting destroyed by wildfires caused by his favored utility companies and his lack of brush clearance. New York has now overtaken Hollywood as the number 1 film and TV production hub in the country. In-N-Out, California's most iconic brand left for Tennessee, and the biggest tech entrepreneur in the history of the universe, Elon Musk, took his talents (and jobs) out of Silicon Valley to Texas. People would rather trade California's perfect weather for Texas' atrocious weather than endure Gavin Newsom's leadership. This dude does not resonate with anyone outside of crazy coastal California.
Good job by Elex bringing a dose of sanity to this absurd line of reasoning by Mooch.
"The right knows who their big adversary is..."
@Scaramucci says
@GavinNewsom is the prospective Democratic presidential candidate that Republicans are "most afraid of."
"The right spends an hour a night on Gavin Newsom trying to take down the economy of California and all the good things that are happening..."
Scaramucci points out that Newsom has a "narrative" about California's growth into the 4th largest economy in the world.
He acknowledges the potential challenges of California's high taxes, gas prices, housing costs, and number of people experiencing homelessness.
