A problem with church culture is how easily morality gets reduced to obedience. Once “good” means pleasing god, following doctrine or submitting to authority, people can stop asking the harder question: who is actually being harmed here?

When the takeaway is a minute late.

Rights being human-made doesn’t reduce them to brainwashing or force. Money, laws and contracts are human-made too, yet they still work because people can reason, cooperate and build institutions around shared rules. “Not a magic object in nature” is a very strange test for whether something matters.

Maybe yours is. Mine isn’t. I’ve got people I love, things I care about, work to do, music to make, and no supernatural rescue required.

You’ve smuggled “eternity” in before showing there’s anything after death to prepare for. Being dead longer than you were alive doesn’t magically turn non-existence into an appointment.

Even if human rights are human-made, “therefore mob rule” simply doesn’t follow. You still have to show why majority preference is the only possible basis for them. You skipped the argument and went straight to meme theology.

That definition rather gives the game away. Apologetics starts with Christianity already in the dock with a defence team, then goes looking for arguments. Inquiry starts earlier: is the claim actually true?

“Multiplied” is doing biblical amounts of work there. 😭 How many humans and breeding pairs are we starting with, over what timescale, and how exactly does that produce today’s genetic diversity and biodiversity without just quoting Genesis back at us?

Knowledge isn’t causation. The problem is infallibility. If god already knows with certainty that tomorrow you choose A, can you genuinely choose B? If yes, god can be wrong. If no, libertarian free will has a problem. “God knows” doesn’t make that tension disappear.

If being disagreed with feels like being “silenced”, intelligence may not be the bit under threat here. Some people just discovered pushback and gave it a persecution arc.

I fucking love asking religious people basic questions about their own claims. 😭 You said god exists. You said your religion is true. I ask “how do you know?” and suddenly we’re doing everything except answering the fucking question.

You’re mixing up “these faculties are unavoidable for any reasoning at all” with “believe this religion because the punishment for being wrong is scary.” That’s not the same argument. Pascal’s Wager still gives you consequences where evidence for Christianity was supposed to be.

You’ve somehow gone from me mocking god to “objective morality proves god” without supplying the bit where one actually leads to the other. Even if objective morality existed, “therefore my god” still doesn’t follow. Show the bridge.

Pascal's Wager, in whatever asinine form it's regurgitated, is for fools. True belief can't be chosen by simply weighing its supposed consequences. "Chosen" belief is not actual belief—it's pretense and affectation. This "wager" is one of the lamest tropes touted by Christians.
