John Pilger Documentary "Palestine Is Still the Issue" - 2002 In 1977, the award-winning journalist and filmmaker, John Pilger, made a documentary called Palestine Is Still the Issue (1977). He told how almost a million Palestinians had been forced off their land in 1948, and again in 1967. In this new documentary, he has returned to the West Bank of the Jordan and Gaza, and to Israel, to ask why the Palestinians, whose right of return was affirmed by the United Nations more than half a century ago, are still caught in a terrible limbo — refugees in their own land, controlled by Israel in the longest military occupation in modern times. “The fate and struggle of the Palestinians,” says Pilger, “are not just critical to the overdue recognition of their basic human rights, but are also central to whether the region, and the wider world, are plunged into war. Israel is now one of the biggest military powers in the world. While nothing changes, the dangers become greater. This is a film about a nation of people, traumatized, humiliated and yet resilient. In trying to liberate less than a quarter of historic Palestine, they have had no army, no air force, and no powerful friends — and have fought back with slingshots and now with suicide bombers.” In a series of extraordinary interviews with both Palestinians and Israelis, John Pilger weaves together the issue of Palestine. He speaks to the families of suicide bombers and their victims; he sees the humiliation of Palestinians imposed on them at myriad checkpoints and with a permit system not dissimilar to apartheid South Africa's infamous pass laws. He goes into the refugee camps and meets children who, he says, “no longer dream like other children, or if they do, it is about death.” Continually asking for the solution, John Pilger says it is time to bring justice, as well as peace, to Palestine. Directed by Anthony Stark Produced by Christopher Martin for Carlton International Media Ltd. Written and Presented by John Pilger

And not a single word about the main supply chain? Hm. England does not merely leak drugs into Scotland. It feeds the market through two arteries that have shaped the country’s overdose crisis. The older one is wholesale. Now, for half a century Merseyside has been a warehouse for cocaine and heroin that Scottish crime groups buy by the kilo. Cash travels south on the M6 and M74, product comes back north. EncroChat files later showed the same map in messages: loads staged in London, Essex, Newcastle and Liverpool, then pointed at Glasgow. Liverpool’s importers sit closer to the ports. Glasgow’s firms sit closer to the customers. They trade rather than annex each other. The newer artery is county lines. Gangs from Liverpool, London and the West Midlands no longer sell a consignment and leave. They keep the phone, send runners up the east-coast rail line and the A9, and occupy flats in Inverness, Aberdeen and Peterhead. Police call it cuckooing. The line sells crack and heroin in towns too small to sustain a local cartel, then extracts the cash. Highland officers count a dozen such lines at a time and work with Merseyside’s Project Medusa to hit the exporters at source. When wholesale cocaine tightens, both systems starve, prices jump. Adulterants follow. Nitazenes appear in the mix that kills people in Glasgow closes and Highland bedsits alike. The English routes are not a side story. They are how a South American harvest becomes a Scottish death certificate. But what do I know... | #Scotland #England #BBCnews

A key aspect of the Treaty of Union which the Machiavellian English spy Daniel Defoe in 1706 sold to his country's parliamentary and commercial elites was the international prowess of Scots fighting men. Imagine, he said, how they would be taken out of the hands of their European rivals and into the service of England. The Scots, of course, acquired their fighting strength over centuries of resisting the incursions of Defoe's imperially-obsessed masters. Young Scottish men have since died in horrifyingly disproportionate numbers to those of their English counterparts (Murray Pittock), enlisted into the English (British) colonial armies to extend their English (British) colonies, and ultimately to defend in WW1 and WW2 their English empire against that of its competitors. Here is the essence of that age-old phenomenon, wheedling recruitment, delivered in the cajoling drawl of this reptilian throwback, Jacob Rees Mogg. With this clip, Mogg does the cause of Scottish freedom a great service. Who wouldn't want to say goodbye to captivity by a nation led by such pompous and self-regarding specimens; a nation which finds it impossible to cure itself from its internationally vilified warmongering habit.
Scotland is fed up with her sons & daughters being sent off to die in illegal & unjust wars for the benefit of English toffs. 👇 This is a sick trick, as old as the Union itself.

Macklemore is schooling every celebrity on earth regarding what it means to be a human being
Macklemore is speaking out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour, seemingly placing blame on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, saying that the billionaire rallied other stadium owners to ban him from performing at their venues: “Ed is my friend. I've known him for 13 years.... I told Ed multiple times on the phone, our friendship can't change my responsibility to tell the truth about what happened [in Gaza]... Ed told me that Robert Kraft called him. We were scheduled to play Gillette Stadium later this month, which is owned by the Kraft Group. Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues.... Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words 'Free Palestine' and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, 'I don't take sides'.... I hope this isn't the end of my relationship with Ed. Thirteen years of friendship doesn't disappear because of one painful disagreement. I hope we both continue listening, studying what is happening in Palestine and wrestling with what neutrality means in a moment like this. My door will always be open to continuing that conversation.... I didn't need 10 shows from Ed. I needed 2. Two chances to stand in front of 90,000 people and say the words that somehow became too dangerous to say. Free Palestine. But if those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I've ever been on.” variety.com/2026/music/news/…

Sniper. An Israeli soldier lined up a 6 year old child in his sights, shot her in the head and left her blind and crippled. She took a year to die. He chose her as a target, took time, took the shot and - whoever he is - will not only escape justice but will be regarded by Israel as a hero. This is Israel. And this is the world the state of Israel is creating around us. It must be defeated as decisively as Nazi Germany. And any government officials, in any country, who have aligned themselves with this dystopia, who have enabled, aided and abetted this in any way, must be charged under international law. That includes any who have violated the requirements of the Genocide convention by providing financial or other aid to the Israeli military directly or indirectly and/or who have ignored their obligations under an ICJ ruling which requires non-co-operation - at least - with the unlawfully occupied territories of Palestine. Both these legal imperatives have applied since 2024. They are not a matter for domestic courts or assemblies. They are a matter of international law, not political preference or opinion. And until we start applying it to our own, the rule of law will continue to crumble.
There are so many like Sarah. A friend in Gaza whose daughter was likewise shot in the head by an Israeli sniper finally got clearance to leave on Sunday, only to be told, along with dozens of other ailing patients, that no one can leave on a Jewish holiday. They deliberately scheduled it on a day they knew was impossible. The pettiness of their sadism is diabolical.

This is a brilliant informative post: x.com/pat11060/status/208723… Please share, the more Scots know about the true constitutional position of our country, the nearer we will be to escaping this so called union.
The single most important constitutional trap in the entire Scotland UK debate. 1. The UK’s claim: “The 1707 Union dissolved Scotland and England and created Great Britain.” This is the standard Westminster line. It sounds neat. It sounds authoritative. It sounds final. But it’s not what the Treaty of Union actually says. And it’s not how international treaty law works. 2. The Treaty did not dissolve Scotland or England The Treaty of Union (1706) explicitly states. Scotland remains Scotland England remains England They are “United into One Kingdom” Their distinct laws, institutions, courts, and constitutional traditions continue If Scotland had been dissolved. Scots law would not exist The Kirk would not exist Scottish education would not exist Scottish courts would not exist Scottish constitutional traditions would not exist But all of these continue, because Scotland was not dissolved. This is why constitutional scholars including Sara Salyers always emphasise. The Union created a shared Crown and Parliament, not a single dissolved state. 3. “Great Britain” is the name of the united kingdom not a new sovereign entity This is the part people miss. The Treaty did not create a new sovereign state called “Great Britain” by dissolving the old ones. It created a union state, not a unitary state. A union state is.. two sovereign nations sharing institutions under a treaty retaining their own constitutional identities This is the same model used for.. Sweden–Norway Austria–Hungary Czechoslovakia The United Arab Republic In every case, the nations remained nations. The union was the arrangement. 4. If Scotland had been dissolved, the Treaty would be meaningless A dissolved state cannot.. retain its legal system retain its institutions retain its constitutional traditions retain its sovereignty retain its international personality But Scotland retained all of these. That means Scotland was not dissolved. 5. The UK’s argument collapses under international law Under treaty law. A treaty cannot dissolve a sovereign state unless the treaty explicitly says so. The Treaty of Union does not say Scotland is dissolved. Therefore Scotland remains a sovereign state under international law. The union is a treaty relationship, not a merger. This is why breaches matter. This is why consent matters. This is why the Supreme Court ruling matters. This is why Poll Tax matters. The UK often claims that Scotland and England were “dissolved” and replaced by Great Britain, but that’s not what the Treaty of Union says. The Treaty united the two kingdoms under one Parliament, but it explicitly preserved Scotland’s laws, courts, institutions, and constitutional identity. A dissolved state cannot retain its legal system or institutions. Scotland did. That means Scotland was not dissolved it entered a union. And when a union is repeatedly breached, the treaty becomes voidable. This is the line that lands And internationally is valid. ⚖️☮️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌎🤔

I've said before: I never watched Downton Abbey. I watched Upstairs Downstairs as a youngster and thought that was bad enough. There is something deeply ingrained in the British psyche that makes working people bow and scrape to posh boys. "The rich man in his garden, "The poor man at his gate "God made them, high or lowly, "And ordered their estate" The class system is foisted on us from the moment we are born. All it takes is for silver-tongued posh-boys like Johnson, Farage, and countless others, to behave like "a bit of a lad" and pretend to call out their peers, and the serf-switch is activated, and the "common" people flock to their side, gazing in awe and wonder that someone so "worthy" would be "on their side". I will give you a clue. They are not, and will never be, on our side. Beer-swilling, fag-smoking, man-of-the-people Farage eats oysters and drinks champagne when no-one "common" is watching. He dines in the finest restaurants, and takes dodgy money from billionaires that go, one way or another, straight into Reform UK Ltd., which is a company, not a political party. Tice and Orr are millionaires. Tice lives in Dubai so he can reduce his tax bill. You know, the tax you and I all pay on PAYE or twice-yearly, to fund our public services. They avoid paying as much as they can avoid, while you and I pay the full whack. Get off your bloody knees, ffs. Patriotism isn't about hanging flags and worshiping the upper classes. It's about having a country we can ALL be proud of, where we ALL get a fair crack of the whip, and where EVERYONE pays their dues, instead of leeching us all dry like these toffs do.
"I don't care that Farage and his buddies are as corrupt as corrupt can get, I'll still support him and will still vote Reform UK" ~ so many dipshits, mostly on X, living in their cultish echo chambers.

Most UK Prime Ministers struggle to understand the nature of the UK. Andy Burnham for all his talk falls into this category. He clearly has ZERO understanding of the Good Friday Agreement which lays out the framework and criteria for any border poll on Irish reunification.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has ruled out calling a referendum on Irish unification, describing a border poll as "off the table". He was speaking during his first official visit to Northern Ireland as prime minister. Read more here: bbc.in/45ML13X
