The international complications. The legal restrictions surrounding what Richard could say and do publicly. None of that makes the allegations disappear. But it also doesn't prove the story the internet decided to tell itself. And if the legal picture continues moving in the direction many people are now watching, some of the people who walked away may eventually have to confront a very uncomfortable question: What if they made their decision before the story was finished?
