Student loans are ridiculous in objectively the richest country in the world. Where everyone else has figured education is a positive for society and pays for it, we see it as a privilege behind a paywall. Why should we forgive them? Because they shouldn’t exist.

I couldn't agree more. It's about personal responsibility. We all make choices and should be prepared to bear the consequences. Why should someone who chose to work right after high school or learn a trade be responsible for paying off the loans of those who chose to pursue higher education? It's not about being against education, it's about fairness and personal accountability.
