This week, as part of my 77 County Tour, I visited Homestead Meats and Processing to see firsthand how they're tackling one of the biggest challenges facing our local producers: a shortage of USDA-inspected meat processors here in Oklahoma. On top of that, Homestead is giving second chance employment opportunities to Oklahomans who have been incarcerated and are ready to work. This is what it looks like when good policy and good people come together to build a stronger Oklahoma.

Grateful for all the fire personnel working the Gracemont fire in Caddo county. Task forces from Caddo, Custer, Blaine, McClain and Garvin counties have helped through record-breaking heat and will continue to work through the night. Please follow instructions given by emergency managers and first responders and evacuate if given the order.

We were honored to join @MassGovernor Maura Healey, @GovWesMoore (MD), @GovStitt (OK), @GovPhilScott (VT), and @NC_Governor Josh Stein for a special tour of the Old State House during our visit to Boston last week. The Old State House is home to some of the American Revolution's most pivotal events, from the Boston Massacre in 1770 to the first reading of the Declaration of Independence to the people of Boston in 1776. Its public gallery was the first in the Western world, and it stands today as the oldest surviving public building in Boston. This sacred site contributed deeply to our nation's history; we were honored to walk its halls and bring governors together to reflect on our founding principles. Big thanks to the team at @RevSpaces for guiding us through "Colony to Commonwealth: Our Revolutionary Story."

I had a great time reading Grady’s in the Silo with Oklahoma students for Read & Accurate Ag Book Week! 📚🌾 This year, students in all 77 counties are learning more about where their food comes from and the agriculture that feeds our state and nation. More than 30,000 students, 400 classrooms, 150+ student organizations, 15 legislators and 75+ volunteer readers are taking part. That’s a lot of Oklahoma kids learning about the people and industries that keep our state moving. Proud to be part of it while I’m continuing my 77 County Tour!

Today we flew both the American Flag and Freedom Flag at half-staff. The Freedom Flag is more than a symbol. It tells the story of September 11. 🇺🇸 Every detail of the flag carries meaning- from the blue field representing Americans united in freedom to the white star honoring those who lived and died for our freedom. The red and white stripes remember the victims of the attacks at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and aboard Flight 93, while also honoring the first responders, firefighters, police officers, rescue workers and others who worked tirelessly during and after the attacks. Twenty-five years later, the Freedom Flag reminds us of the tremendous cost of that day and the courage, sacrifice and unity that followed.

I had a wonderful meeting with 2026 Oklahoma 4-H Junior Governor Riley Braden at the Capitol today! At just 12 years old, Riley asked thoughtful questions as she interviewed me for her 4-H leadership project. I’m encouraged by the bright, confident young leaders stepping up across our state. The future of Oklahoma is in good hands!

Oklahoma has never been a state that follows trends- we pave our own way. We didn’t wait until it became popular to crack down on illegal immigrants driving 80,000-pound trucks without a valid commercial driver’s license. We launched Operation Guardian and took dangerous drivers off our roads. With more than 600 commercial vehicle operators apprehended since April 2025, Oklahoma is once again leading the way.

Had a great time at the Century Lap Route 66 in Clinton today! It’s no surprise that counties across our state are going all out to celebrate the centennial of Route 66, especially with Oklahoma having the longest stretch of the Mother Road. Can’t wait to come to your county next as we continue the 77 County Tour!🚙
