Trump wiped out the Middle Class
There are currently 134.8 million households in the US. Just ~1.4 million of these households, or 1%, now control a record 32.5% of US household wealth. Never in US history has there been a wealth divide even remotely close to what we are seeing now.

So the news today is that both the Alberta separatists and the Quebec separatists have been holding (or seeking) meetings with the Trump administration — colluding with a foreign power in the service of its ambition to break up the country and absorb it piece by piece. For how long are we going to continue to treat this as a legitimate political “option”?

Fact
Peter Navarro did four months in a federal prison in Miami in 2024 for contempt of Congress. He is also the economist who padded his books with quotes from an expert called Ron Vara, who turned out to be an anagram of Navarro because the shonky bastard had made him up. This is the tosser lecturing a former governor of two central banks about fucking leverage. ifloz.substack.com/p/carney-…

🇺🇸🇨🇦 Watch out going to the US from Canada! White House Border Czar Tom Homan has vowed to focus more on the northern border, calling the US-Canada border a ‘security vulnerability’. The House passed a northern border security bill last month. #DemsAbroad thetravel.com/us-border-czar…

The ripple effect
🚨 THE US BOND MARKET IS FLASHING A WARNING THAT SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. Inflation just came in much cooler than expected. And yet, buyers are still refusing to step into long-term US Treasuries. Goldman says the long end is “still totally bidless.” That is a serious problem. Headline PCE: 3.4% vs 3.7% expected Core PCE: 3.0% vs 3.3% expected Normally, a downside inflation surprise like this should send investors rushing into bonds and push long-term yields lower. But this time, it barely helped. Because the bond market is looking past one inflation report and seeing much bigger problems underneath. US GDP was revised sharply higher from 1.5% to 2.2%. Private domestic demand surged 4.6%. The government is still running a deficit of roughly $2 TRILLION. AI investment is exploding and requires enormous amounts of capital. And despite the softer report, inflation is still well above the Fed’s 2% target. Put all of that together and long-term bond investors are demanding higher yields before they are willing to take the risk of lending to the US government for decades. And that is where this gets dangerous. If even cooler inflation can't bring buyers back, what exactly will? Because persistent pressure on long-term Treasury yields doesn't stay inside the bond market. It flows directly into mortgages, corporate borrowing, government interest costs, stock valuations and the entire financial system. The US just got the inflation report the bond market was supposed to love. And the bond market basically shrugged. That may be the biggest warning in the entire report.

Spending on AI infrastructure is projected to average 3.6% of US GDP in the coming years. That would represent a higher share of the economy than the investment in Canals (1836-41), Railroads (1870-90) and Electrification (1905-25) ... Combined.

On brand: Scorn for the American people. Autocrats going down are filled with rage and they turn it on those they are supposed to govern.

Sure bet
Why Moving Past America is Our Best Bet - The endless American complaints about how we treat the United States "very unfairly" have officially crossed the line into total absurdity. Come on, man... Watching Washington politicians throw these public tantrums and call us "one of the worst countries in the entire world" is a laughable narrative, but it is COMPLETELY disconnected from reality. The latest White House drama involves banning about $1 billion in our imports like dairy and alcohol. Get it right: this targeted restriction is barely a microscopic ripple in our intertwined $880 billion economic engine. It's completely nonsignificant to broader financial health. Historically, this integrated supply chain worked perfectly fine for everyday citizens on both sides. Yet, when pressed on the basic logistics, Trump still fails to explain how tariffs actually function or how they could possibly help his own voters. These trade penalties have NEVER moved the needle on the American economy, and they aren't about to start now. If this mentally unstable administration wants to play games, fine. We don't care anymore. We're through politely asking for common sense at the negotiating table. And because our economies are so deeply fused, we will continue to take exactly what we only NEED from the U.S. while aggressively decoupling from their toxic, damaged nation, leaving only the necessities for our glorious country, which once we're finished with this, won't be much. We are forging our OWN independent economic path and building incredibly lucrative new alliances with STABLE and TRUSTWORTHY global markets like the European Union. Washington is about to find oot exactly what happens when you alienate your most critical partner. So, have fun voting in whichever new administration in a couple of years your broken system cooks up; to realists, it doesn't matter if it's Democrat or Republican now......Canada has officially left the building. Bye America. Stay oot of our backyard. Canada has real partnerships and alliances to work with now. You're on your own. 🇨🇦 #cdnpoly #canpoli #MAGA #Republicans #usa #trump

Ya think?
This is WILD. 89% of Americans say their government is corrupt - a record high. Is there any reversing this trend?

Wow
This is all you need to know about that emergency G7 oil and diesel release. They plan to release 100m barrels. But European consumption ALONE is 14m barrels per day. If they thought this would move the needle, they're going to need a bigger dump.

That is the question
How do Republicans have a chance in the midterms without rigging them?
