For the UK to quit the ECHR would be to hand a huge victory to Putin in his war against human rights and international law. 🚨 Brexit has reached its mathematical limit. Britain 🇬🇧 wants its products treated as “made in Europe” while maintaining lower tariffs on Chinese 🇨🇳 goods. The EU will not let Britain become a back door through which Chinese products evade European trade defences. So Britain has three choices: 🔹 Copy EU tariffs and rules without having a vote over them. 🔹 Diverge and accept new barriers against British industry. 🔹 Join the customs union, protect our supply chains and begin the route back to full EU membership, where Britain would help make the rules. There is no sovereign 🦄 fourth option. Outside every major trading bloc, Britain is not freer. It is squeezed between the EU, China and America, adapting to decisions made by all three. @andyburnham these Brexit red lines do not protect British sovereignty. They just preserve the machinery through which we continue to lose it.
