Most folks assume this means there are huge profits that could be painlessly wrung out of healthcare to make it cheaper. In fact it's evidence of a highly opaque system of cross-subsidies. They can afford to offer discounts to uninsured folks with limited ability to pay--but that doesn't mean they could survive by offering those prices to everyone.
I knew a Mennonite who said, since they were uninsured, they always paid medical bills in cash. When the bill came they would say, "No, for real, what's the real bill?" Immediate 1/2 to 2/3rds reduction when "insurance" didn't get involved and take their cut.
