@POTUS Hey, convicted felon dummy, that is a lie.
You did not have 107 million viewers. Your White House is taking social-media impressions and pretending they are television viewers. They are completely different measurements. An impression can count because a post appeared on somebody’s screen. It does not mean that person watched your convention.
The actual Nielsen numbers are brutal. The NFL game opposite the first night drew 25.1 million viewers. Your convention drew roughly 3.3 million across the major television broadcasts and YouTube. Night two wasn’t any better. The NFL drew another 18.5 million while the convention drew roughly 3 million.
So no, you did not get four times the NFL audience. The NFL television audience was roughly SIX TIMES yours over the two nights.
You took one metric called “impressions,” compared it with an entirely different metric called “viewers,” and declared yourself the winner.
That isn’t how ratings work. It is how bullshit works.
Q: There's a report that Ken Paxton was complaining about your midterm convention. What's your reaction?
DONALD TRUMP: I haven't heard that, but the convention was amazing. We had 107 million views. The NFL had 25 million. We had 4 times what the NFL did.
